Last year, we began a campaign to celebrate women’s cycling here at the Co-op with special features online and events in our shops. Why? Because in the wonderful world of cycling, women’s cycling takes a back seat. (Read more about how and why we’re celebrating…)
This week we’re highlighting the incredible Beryl Burton, who will forever have a special connection with liquorice allsorts, as well as being arguably the greatest female cyclist of all time.
As with last week’s Eileen Sheridan aka ‘The Mighty Atom’, we’ll be taking down our posters and giving them away for free at the end of March. If you’d like to receive a Beryl Burton poster, just say so in the comments below.

Stay tuned over the next month for more inspirational figures from women’s cycling!
Yorkshire’s finest. My daughter loved the stage play last year, a poster on her wall would make her day.
Done!
Great thanks.
Do you still have any of the Beryl Burton posters?
I just listened to Maxine Peake’s fantastic radio play.
A long shot, I know …
Hi Jeff! We actually have a thick card version of the poster that’s in the office, which you would be welcome to. If you’re near any of our shops you can pick it up free of charge, otherwise we’d have to get it sent out to you by special delivery. It would cost about £7 for that.
