Product Description

Details

Significant component upgrades make the Sport more off-road capable than the standard Revolution Cuillin.

Upgrades over Revolution Cuillin

  • Longer travel (75mm over 50) SunTour fork.
  • 8-speed 11-30 cassette over 7-speed 14-28 freewheel delivers a wider-range of gears (higher highs, lower lows).
  • Classier transmission - TruVativ crank and Shimano Acera rear gear.
  • Cassette rear hub makes for a stronger wheel because the axle is better balanced by the more-outboard right hand bearings.
  • The double-walled wheel rim is stronger: its machined walls present a superior braking surface.
  • WTB Velociraptor 26x2.1" tyres have more bite.
  • Name-brand Tioga alloy bars over steel - lighter weight, never rust.

Same as standard Revolution Cuillin

  • Sturdy but lightweight 7005-series aluminium MTB frame. Eyeletted seat stays (new for 2005) take a rack. Bosses and bolts on the down tube allow you to screw on a Crud Catcher-style mudguard and dispense with zip ties.
  • Dependable suspension from a company that makes 3,000,000 forks a year - SunTour.
  • Shimano EZ Fire gear shifter - very light action means they are as easy to use as their name implies.
  • Alloy wheels - lighter weight and better braking surface than steel rims. QR (quick release) for convenience - no need to carry a spanner to remove the wheels.
  • Tektro V-brakes are the best Shimano knockoffs we've had the pleasure to use.
  • The forks get a custom matt finish to match the frame (new for 2005). A chainstay guard and the lacquered-over decals (both new for 2005) help the frame keep its good looks.
