Are you part of a local authority, higher education institution, or community group in Scotland, and interested in using e-bikes?
The Energy Saving Trust has relaunched the e-Bike Grant Fund for 2022. Transport Scotland has committed £900,000 of funding to assist local authorities, public sector agencies, further and higher education institutions, active travel hubs, and community groups to adopt e-bikes as a sustainable alternative to car journeys. The grant funding can cover e-bikes, e-cargo bikes, cargo bikes, and relevant accessories.
The e-Bike Grant Fund is split into 2 categories:
- Category A offers up to £25,000 of funding towards projects that will provide opportunities for communities to trial e-bikes. These project applications will be reviewed on:
- Friday 16th September 2022
- Friday 18th November 2022
- Category B offers up to £200,000 of funding per application towards large-scale fleets of bikeshare/hire schemes and promoting large-scale uptake of e-bikes. Submissions will be reviewed on receipt of a completed application and can be submitted at any point up until 18 November 2022.
Projects can also apply for extra funding, limited to 5% of the total project cost, to provide subsidised access to e-bike hire for targeted groups. This is to ensure that these target groups, such as those on low incomes, those with disabilities or mobility issues, jobseekers, modern apprentices, young people, and students, have equal access to e-bike opportunities.
