Liv are the only global bicycle brand, solely managed and staffed by women. Their ambition is to create women’s bikes that look better, fit better and ride better.
Liv bikes available-
- Liv gravel bike
- Mountain bikes
- Road bikes
- Women's Hybrid Commuter bikes
- Liv Electric Bikes & Liv Electric Mountain Bikes
To this end Liv went to great lengths – literally – by measuring the key differences in men and women’s vital stats in nine different countries. As well as the most obvious data - arm, leg, and torso length - Liv measured upper and lower body power output to compile their Global Body Dimension Database.
This data made it clear that most women would benefit from riding a bike that takes account of these differences. In particular, gains could be made if the bike was designed around a women’s lower centre of gravity.
The insights Liv have gleaned from their Global Body Dimension Database inform the design of every one of their bicycles. Naturally, a Liv’s frame geometry will vary depending on the style of the bike. However, a couple of key principles are constant.
- A Liv bike’s low centre of gravity helps create an engaging ride where the bike works like an extension of the body so it rewards your every effort.
- The comparatively higher front end offers more upper body support.
Built by Giants
When it comes to actually building their bikes, Liv have another ace to play. Every Liv bicycle is manufactured by Giant. Being the world’s biggest bicycle manufacturer, Giant’s economies of scale help guarantee that a Liv will most likely be the best women’s bike at that price.
Just as important, Giant are the only company that builds every bike frame every step of the way from its raw ingredients - the aluminium ore or the carbon filament – to its final lacquer. Such control over every process is your ultimate guarantee of consistent quality control, and a bike that feels and rides just right.
Combining Liv’s research and design with Giant’s production muscle goes a long way to creating some of the best made, best fitting and best value for money bicycles available today.

Liv 2017 Road Bike Highlights
Liv Avail 1 > Shop current model
10/10: Cycling Weekly.
Cycling Weekly scored the Liv Avail 1 a perfect 10 earlier this year based on the bike’s excellent value,
its versatility, its comfort, its handling and its great component specification, with a special mention for the bar-top brake levers, which complement the bike’s standard drop bar Shimano STI levers. Full review.
LIV AVAIL SL2 DISC > SHOP CURRENT MODEL
The Avail SL2 Disc offers an even better ride than the Avail 1, courtesy of its lighter weight SL alloy frame, its genuinely shock-damping D-Fuse carbon seatpost, its higher spec Shimano Tiagra 2×10 gearing and its lower maintenance disc brakes.
LIV AVAIL ADVANCED 3 > SHOP CURRENT MODEL
This version of the Avail boasts an Advanced Composite frameset. Believe us: you’ll notice and appreciate the carbon frame’s light weight (around 900g) every time you tackle a climb. When you’re enjoying the following downhill, you’ll be amazed by the smooth, modulated control delivered by its Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. Why you want hydraulics.
LIV ENVIE ADVANCED 2 [NO LONGER AVAILABLE] > SHOP ALL LIV BIKES
Faster still, the Envie is Liv’s women’s aero road bike, which has the power to maximise your time trial speed while remaining comfortable for 3-4 hour sportives. See Cycling Plus review.
CONCLUSION
To discover the essence of this unique bicycle company, we’ll leave Liv to describe themselves in their own words.
From Liv cycling:
“Meet Liv.
She is the most confident woman in the room because she supports those around her rather than tearing them down. She empowers belief in self!
She doesn’t need to compromise her authenticity by trying to live up to the standards of beauty magazines and curated social lives — she knows who she is and that’s enough.
She never boasts or brags, over promises or over sells. There is just an inherent optimism in how she sees the world.
She is driven and is fulfilled by the joy of riding with her friends or just appreciating the simple pleasure of breathing in and out. She lives her life on her own terms, pursues her passions and appreciates the moments on her bike. She is free-spirited, willing to take risks and is quick to laugh.
She simply loves to ride. She is Liv.”
