Cargo bikes are becoming increasingly popular, none moreso than the Tern GSD cargo bike. There is such a large choice of accessories we thought it worthwhile talking about the most popular of these as there are options for luggage, boxes, two children or one adult to name but a few. Below is a talk through of some of the most popular accessories and the suggested or required add-ons.
Tern Captains Chair
The Captain’s Chair can fit 2 children or 1 adult on the back of the GSD. It features a thick seatpad and backrest for passenger comfort. You can also remove the cushion for space to accommodate crates or boxes.

Joyride Flat bars give a passenger something to hold on to while sitting on the back.
Tern GSD Clubhouse Gen 3 Carrier
Provides a comfortable and protected space for two children. The Clubhouse Gen 3 can facilitate 2 child seats for younger children. Remove the cushions or seats entirely and this space can fit a 600mm x 400mm crate.
Optional Extra – Tern Sidekick Wide Decks (for more foot room for passengers), Children’s seat
Tern Storm Box
The Tern Storm Box turns the rear of the Tern GSD into a weather protected space. A ‘kidlid’ to keep your children dry and comfortable on lousy days or a protective cover to keep whatever you are transporting dry.

Tern Storm Shield
Gives protection from the rain and wind. The Storm Shield can be combined with the Storm box to create a full weather resistant area to keep children dry and happy.

Tern Sidekick Wide Decks
They provide passengers with more comfy foot space, and riders with extra peace-of-mind when carrying kids. The Sidekick Wide Decks are designed to support up to 35kg each

Tern Atlas Lockstand Extensions
Added to the Tern Atlas Lockstand to provide extra stability when carrying heavier loads (for use with – Tern Storm Box, Tern Storm Shield, Tern Sidekick Doublewide Decks)
Tern GSD Cargo Hold Panniers (available in 52 Litre or 37 Litre)
In a nutshell, large bags to carry stuff.

Tern GSD Shortbed Tray Rear
A tray for the rear of the GSD that can carry eurocrates or boxes up to a maximum of 35kg.
Tern GSD Transporteur Rack front
A cargo carrier for the front of the GSD that can carry crates or boxes. The Transporteur Front Rack features 20kg of carrying space.
Children’s Seats
There are a number of options for up to two children on the rear of the Tern GSD. Please call us or ask in store for which one would be best.
Optional Extras – Clubhouse + for a bit more safety for your precious cargo.
Another optional extra that is not Tern specific are handlebar mirrors for bicycles as you can keep an eye on what traffic is behind or watch your precious cargo.
