with synthesis alloy 2.0, crankbrothers have made the switch from alloy 6013 to alloy 6069. This change delivers significantly better strength and durability, with major gains in ultimate tensile, yield tensile, fatigue, and shear strength, ensuring long-term performance.Â
shot peened finish
crankbrothers transitioned from a brushed to a shot-peened finish for enhanced durability and a refined look. As a performance benefit, the rim has an increased fatigue life, improved resistance to cracking and enhanced wear resistance.Â
rim profile
synthesis alloy 2.0 features a re-engineered rim profile for greater durability and impact resistance. With refined sidewall geometry, strategic material placement in the rim bed and sidewalls, and different front and rear internal widths, every detail is designed to deliver performance.Â

crankbrothers offers a lifetime warranty to the original owner/purchaser of synthesis alloy 2.0 wheels or rims, covering defects in materials and workmanship of the rim specically according to the conditions listed below. This includes those purchased at retail or as original equipment on a complete bicycle.
This warranty only applies to crankbrothers synthesis alloy 2.0 products offered from 2025 onward. Any products not specically included herein are expressly excluded.
The warranty does cover:
- manufacturing defects
- damage caused by crash during normal riding
- dents or at spots on synthesis alloy 2.0 rims where the tire no longer holds air
- seam separation and/or cracks at the spoke hole area
the warranty does not cover:
- normal wear and tear
- visual defects, unless manufacturing-related
- improper assembly
- improper maintenance or unauthorized repair
- installation of components, parts, or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the products as sold
- damage or failure due to misuse, abuse, or neglect
- labor charges for part replacement or changeover
- hubs and other components (subject to standard manufacturer warranty)
