THE SPECIALIZED STUMPJUMPER
If you’re into mountain biking then you’ll know the Stumpjumper. First produced in 1981, the Specialized Stumpjumper has evolved over the years from this:
The first mass produced mountain bike with a steel frame and no suspension… to this:
The 2019 Stumpjumper! You can get it in Long Travel, Short Travel or Evo and the bikes comes in two wheel sizes (27.5″ and 29″) with a choice of carbon or alloy frames.
And that’s not forgetting the women’s specific Stumpjumpers:
This long travel bike comes in two wheel sizes. Choose the 29″ and you’ll get 5mm more rear travel compared with the previous model to give you a total of 140mm (140mm rear/150mm front). While choosing the 27.5″ you’ll keep the 150mm travel (150mm front and rear). You’ll also enjoy a longer reach, a return to threaded bottom brackets and increased tyre clearance with this latest bike.
Specialize describe this bike as a “do it all” – it’s an efficient climber which is better at descents too.
This short travel bike comes in the two wheel sizes too with 130/130mm travel in 27.5” and 130/120mm travel in 29”. Described as “fun, lively and nimble” – the ST replaces the Camber model and has increased reach, the new asymmetrical frame design and adjustable geometry via a Flip Chip (slackens the head angle by .5 degrees and drops the bottom bracket 6mm).
