Whyte Tourus in blue: commute, ride or explore on one bike

The Whyte Tourus is the bike for people whose riding doesn't fit in one box.

Some days it's the fast, no-nonsense way to get to work and back. Other weekends it's loaded up for a couple of nights out on the trails, or just pointed at whatever road, lane or gravel track looks interesting.

If you've been putting off a bike because you couldn't decide which kind you needed, this is the one that stops the debate.

It's a light gravel, all-road, touring and utility bike rolled into one, playful enough to be good fun and practical enough to earn its keep. Mix tarmac with rough stuff, head off bikepacking, or nip to work and home without fuss, it takes all of it in its stride.

Built to handle real UK riding

The multi-butted 6061 T6 hydroformed alloy frame keeps things light and responsive without feeling harsh, and the straight-bladed alloy fork comes with mounting points, so racks, mudguards and bags all have somewhere to go. That matters here. Bolt on guards for a wet winter commute, then strip them off when the dry roads come back.

Stopping is handled by Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes, with a larger 180mm rotor up front for confident braking when you're loaded or dropping down a greasy hill, and 160mm at the rear. The 2x10 Shimano GRX transmission gives you a wide enough gear range to spin up steep climbs with luggage and still hold a decent pace on the flat.

Comfortable over distance

High-volume Maxxis 700x45mm tyres sit on tubeless-ready rims, so you can run lower pressures for grip and comfort on rough surfaces, and cut down on punctures when you're miles from anywhere. On a long day in the saddle, that's the difference between finishing fresh and finishing sore.

Who it suits

This aluminium gravel bike in the UK makes sense for commuters who also like to ride for the fun of it, for anyone planning a first gravel touring trip, and for riders who want one dependable all-road bike for commuting through the week and exploring at the weekend. The Whyte Tourus in blue is a sensible, versatile choice, and it's available for sale now.
