The Specialized Allez Sprint Comp is, by the numbers, the fastest alloy road bike ever made. Specialized took everything they learned developing the Tarmac SL7 and rebuilt it in alloy using Smartweld technology.
The result is an aero road bike in alloy that's 41 seconds faster over 40km than the previous Allez Sprint. For riders who want race-level speed without the carbon price tag, the Allez Sprint is where Specialized alloy road bikes get serious.
The frame
Smartweld technology allows the bottom bracket and downtube to be hydroformed from a single piece of alloy, which makes the Allez Sprint ruthlessly stiff where it counts. A complex alloy head tube, the most intricate Specialized have produced, ties it all together.
The one-piece bottom bracket and downtube construction means power at the pedals transfers directly into forward speed with very little flex. You feel it most when you're sprinting out of corners or putting the power down on a climb.
Dropped seat stays and the Tarmac SL7's carbon seatpost keep things comfortable in the saddle, while the carbon fork gives precise, confident steering. The geometry is the same World Championship-proven shape from the Tarmac SL7, so the handling is sharp and predictable at speed.
Groupset and wheels
Shimano 105 shifting and hydraulic disc brakes give you reliable, precise gear changes and strong stopping power in all conditions. The DT R470 disc alloy wheels are a solid, robust starting point, and the kind of wheelset you can race on without worrying about damaging expensive carbon rims in a bunch sprint or on rough UK roads.
