Rough roads, gravel tracks, muddy lanes off the back of a B-road. The Giant Revolt Advanced 3 is built for all of it, and the Aquarium colourway makes it one of the more striking Giant gravel bikes on the market right now.
If you've been looking at the Giant Revolt Advanced 3 gravel bike and wondering whether it lives up to the spec sheet, the short answer is yes.
The Advanced composite frameset is noticeably lighter than the previous generation, over 160g saved across the frame and fork, and that difference is felt immediately on climbs and accelerations.
A frame designed around real riding
Updated geometry brings a lower bottom bracket, longer reach, and a steeper head tube angle. In practice, that means a more planted, efficient position when you're pushing hard, and better handling when the surface beneath you stops being predictable.
The dropped seatstays with thin tubing take the edge off road buzz, and the D-Fuse handlebar and seatpost work together to smooth things out further without going soft when you're sprinting or cornering.
The flip chip
This is where the Giant Revolt 3 gets genuinely clever. A flip chip on the rear dropout lets you adjust the wheelbase to suit the terrain. Short for sharper, more reactive handling on tighter tracks, long for stability at speed on open gravel. In the long setting, tyre clearance opens up to 53mm, which covers most of what you're likely to encounter on UK gravel routes.
You can also run the included D-Fuse seatpost for maximum compliance, or swap in a 30.9mm round post or dropper if that suits your setup better.
The Giant Revolt Advanced 3 in Aquarium is available for sale in the UK at Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative.
