The world-renowned Ridgeback Scoot XL 14-inch Balance Bike is also designed to meet the challenging demands of kids aged 4 to 7.
With 14-inch wheels and a low standover frame, the Ridgeback Scoot XL is perfect for small riders around 100 to 110cm tall. The perfectly proportioned 6061 aluminium frame provides the best fit for comfort and control. It is stable, easy to control, and gives kids the freedom to scoot, glide, and explore at their own pace. The lightweight aluminium frame makes it easy for little legs to push along, and for parents to carry.
Without the complication of pedals, children are able to narrow their focus on stabilising themselves and walking the bike. With practice, children gradually propel themselves with more confidence and speed until balance is achieved. The Scoot XL is well equipped for kids to safely practice shifting their body weight and correctly leaning into corners at speed. Once momentum, balance, and cornering are mastered, proceeding to a conventional bike with pedals (without training wheels) is a simple formality.
The rear hand brake provides an early understanding of how to safely slow down and stop. The adjustable fit, with an easy-to-adjust saddle and handlebars, means the Scoot XL grows with your child as they gain confidence and height. Supplied with two seatposts for a seat range of 41cm to 56cm (16" to 22"), the Scoot XL accommodates children aged 4 to 7.
