Whyte Shoreditch 2020 - Commuter Hybrid Bike

The Whyte Shoreditch is the first bike in Whyte's Fast Urban R7 flat bar road bike range to come upgraded with a carbon fork and Shimano 1x10 gearing. Could this bike be your dream hybrid? Read our blog to find out.

Key Features

  • 6061 Alloy, Hydro Formed T6 Aluminium frame
  • Whyte straight bladed carbon fork
  • Shimano Deore 10 Speed gears
  • Tektro Auriga hydraulic disc brakes

The Shoreditch DNA

Carbon Fork
If you want to reduce weight whilst improving comfort, aerodynamics and steering response, upgrading the fork blades from metal to carbon is probably the most profound improvement you can make on a road bike.

Shimano Deore 1x10 Simplified Gear Shifting
Proven on mountain bikes, now crossing over to better quality road bikes, one-by gear shifting comes highly recommended. More on this.

The 11-42 cassette offers a wider range and lower climbing gears than the Whyte Whitechapel's 11-36 cassette.

Tektro Auriga Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Tektro Auriga stoppers deliver single-digit modulated braking - i.e. all it takes is a light squeeze of the lever with a single fingertip to apply each brake. Proven on high-spec mountain bikes over the past decade, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes now feature on better quality urban bikes, such as the Whyte Shoreditch. This makes sense because consistent confidence-inspiring braking is at least as important on the road as it is on the trail.

Why consider a bike with high quality hydraulic disc brakes? See blog.

Mudguard and Rack Compatible
Custom dropouts enable Whyte to mount the rear hydraulic disc brake caliper inside the rear triangle, making it rack and mudguards compatible. If you want any extras fitted to a Whyte Shoreditch, such as Whyte's matching mudguards, let us know when you order the bike and we will customise the bike to your requirements at no extra labour charge.

How Whyte Describe the Shoreditch
Featuring mountain bike clutch mech technology and the all-new Deore 11-42 wide range cassette, the Shoreditch has the right gear for any ride.

Based on our high performance mountain bike geometry, all our Fast Urban bikes have a long wheelbase and relaxed head angle for high speed stability and a shorter stem for excellent slow speed manoeuvrability.

A custom rear dropout mounts the hydraulic disc brake calliper inside the rear triangle, clearing the way for any rack or mudguards that may be required. 1 by 10 MTB gearing promises years of reliable urban use and hydro discs guarantee consistent performance.
