Velo Culture Less Waist Wide Belt

Taking the advice to always carry a spare inner tube to its logical conclusion, Velo Culture have created this unique belt from an inner tube.

  • Handmade in Newcastle upon Tyne from up-cycled inner tubes plus a buckle and thread.
  • The inner tube used to make this belt might have a patch on it, and it could be stamped with the tube's size or the manufacturer's branding.
  • We think this helps guarantee that every Velo Culture Less Waist Wide Belt is truly unique.
  • Available in two sizes: 30-36 inches / 76-91cm and 34-40 inches / 86-101cm.
  • The belt has seven holes, each one an inch / 2.5cm apart so you can fine tune the fit.
  • The colour choice - black or red - refers to the colour of the belt's thread, not its rubber.

Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op is a proud donator of punctured inner tubes to Velo Culture.

'Our 'Less Waist'™ belts are made from a whole up-cycled inner tube which has been stitched using cotton thread to produce a striking pattern which runs from the keeper to the first hole.

The keeper is made from either another piece of inner tube with contrasting stitching.

Each tube we use is unique and therefore your belt will differ slightly to the one shown in the picture. The belts are very supple and have a slight stretch (although the stitching prevents too much) so are very comfy to wear.

Available in a variety of sizes each size range has 7 holes measuring 1" apart.

The tubes we use are all scrubbed clean using good old fashioned elbow grease and then eco cleaner. They have only the tiniest whiff of rubber if you get really up close and personal and this disappears completely after just a little bit of use.

They are a brilliant environmentally friendly alternative to leather, just as durable yet easier to care for and also develop a lovely sheen and smoothness over time.'
