Specialized Women's RBX Comp Bib Short '17

A bib short for women is a rare and beautiful thing - especially a bib that boast's a plush Italian Specialized Body Geometry stretch synthetic chamois.

The name RBX is Specialized code for Roubaix - their famous endurance road bike range. Like a Roubaix or Ruby bike, Specialized RBX Women's Shorts are made for putting in the miles in maximum comfort (though don't let that put you off going out for a short spin in these fine shorts).

  • Made for long days in the saddle, the RBX Comp's Body Geometry synthetic chamois offers up to 10mm padding where required to cushion the sit bones
  • This padded zone takes into account changes in the rotation of the pelvic bone when you shift between sitting upright and riding on the drops
  • A lower density padded groove running down the centre of the chamois relieves perineal pressure
  • The chamois is longer at the front for maximum coverage
  • The chamois wings' lower density (4mm) padding won't bunch or constrict and it doesn't feels intrusive (as a more nappy-like chamois can)
  • The chamois' open cell padding accelerates moisture transfer
  • The chamois is made in Italy by CyTech - the inventors of the modern, stretch, synthetic chamois
  • The shorts Action Elasthan fabric delivers comfort and muscle support
  • Action Elasthan is a more substantial 20% elastane/80% polyamide 'Power Lycra' fabric, tested to optimises muscle compression for improved performance and quicker recovery
  • The shorts' multi panel construction accentuates the smooth second-skin fit
  • The bib is a soft, comfortable mesh fabric so it won't overheat on summer rides
  • The extra wide (4cm) silicone leg grippers, inside the lower hem, are also exceptionally smooth so they never constricts while helping prevent the shorts riding up
  • Apart from a reflective S logo, this short is tastefully devoid of branding
  • Designed in California.
  • Made in Bosnia Herzegovina

Why consider bibs?
If you have never experienced the perfect fit of bib shorts, longs or 3/4s, you're missing out. The benefits of bibs are legendary in cycling circles. Why do you think the majority of pros wear bib shorts - even in the middle of summer Tours?

  • With a bib keeping the shorts or longs in place, the bibshort comes closer to the 'second-skin' ideal you look for in performance cycle clothing
  • 'Second skin' means the garment stretches and recovers in tandem with your thigh muscles every pedal stroke
  • 'Second skin' means you enjoy an absence of bunching, tightness, wrinkling, constriction, chaffing or movement that would distract you from pedalling smoothly in comfort
  • The bib offers maximum lower back coverage, which helps prevent the risk of chilled kidneys
  • Bibs mean the manufacturer can dispense with the potentially constricting waistband
  • There's no chance of the bibshort riding down because the waistband has gone senile
  • With the garment kept perfectly in place, there is less chance of the saddle nose hooking up the front of your shorts or longs as you manoeuvre on or off your bike seat
