Product Description

Specialized Crosstrail Sport 2018

The Crosstrail Sport is upgraded with a microSHIFT R9/Shimano Alivio 2x9 drivetrain to create a smoother operating trail-capable commuter bike.

Specialized Crosstrail
Specialized Crosstrail is the first name in versatile commuter hybrid bikes with suspension forks and hydraulic disc brakes to make it equally capable on light trails, Sustrans tracks and the like.

Why you should consider a bike with hydraulic disc brakes.

  • The Crosstrail has been upgraded with especially clean internal cable routing.
  • Continuing the cleaner lines theme, the rear disc brake is now flat mounted.
  • The SunTour 55mm-travel fork's Multi-Circuit damping and Brain technology ensure smoother riding in the rough and more efficient climbing on the smooth.
  • Brain technology 'senses' the terrain so the suspension is fully active over rough ground and cobbles, then it automatically firms up on smooth roads.

Specialized Crosstrail Overview
When Specialized introduced their unisex Crosstrail and women's Ariel ranges of trail capable commuter bikes in 2008 they created a genre - much as Specialized have done throughout their history (think Specialized Stumpjumper mountain bike or Roubaix sportive road bike).

As is the Specialized way, the Crosstrail concept has evolved and been refined, so their 2017 models are better looking and ride more smoothly than ever. For all these improvements, every Crosstrail bike lives up to Specialized's original ambition - that is to create a trail-capable commuter bike.

To this end, every Crosstrail rolls on 700x38 tyres which are faster than off road knobblies and more forgiving than 23/25mm-wide road bike tyres. Pannier rack and mudguard compatibility make a Crosstrail perfect for commuting, touring and general riding. The suspension fork delivers shock absorption that helps make the bike suitable for light trail riding.

It's little wonder that Crosstrail bikes have been among our most consistent best sellers since their introduction. If you are looking for one bike that works well over the widest spectrum of conditions, a rugged commuter/hybrid such as a Specialized Crosstrail is well worth considering.

'Specialized Crosstrail Sport 2017
Your fitness is important—that's why our Crosstrail Sport focuses on seamlessly blending comfort, versatility, and efficiency. It comes equipped with a suspension fork with our Fitness Brain technology that can tell the difference between pedaling inputs and trail bumps, so you won't be wasting any energy on your climbs. And to build on this blend of comfort and speed, the frame is built from respectably light and rugged A1 SL Premium aluminium with a geometry that's made to fit just right from the minute you get on the bike. Add in a mix of workhorse components from the likes of Shimano and microSHIFT, powerful Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, and rack/fender mounts, and we're sure that you'll be mixing it up quite a bit on your road to hitting your goals.'
