Oxford Metro-Glo Helmet

The Metro-Glo is our first cycling helmet with an integrated rear light and a red-glowing fibre optic wrapped around the whole helmet for 360˚ visibility.

As well as getting you seen - probably better than any other lid - this helmet ticks all the boxes for design and wearability.

  • In-mould construction - the outer polycarbonate microshell and the inner EPS foam shell are fused together to create a tougher lid
  • Better still, the microshell wraps round the bottom of the lid to protect that most vulnerable part of any helmet
  • 17 deep vents help you keep your cool
  • The anti-rock rear strap is padded for comfort and its large rear speed-dial makes it easy to adjust - even with gloved hands
  • The chin strap is also padded
  • The chin straps are sensibly wide, so they're less likely to get twisted than narrower straps might
  • Supplied with 2 x CR2032 batteries to power the rear light and the fibre optic surround
  • Supplied with mini screwdriver to access the rear light's battery compartment
  • Sizes: M (52-56cm), L (56-62cm)
  • Colour: Black
  • 296g - we weighed a medium size Oxford Metro-Glo Helmet

Here's what Oxford say about their Metro-Glo Helmet

Phyzability 3D-360˚

Noun: A state in which the human form is able to be seen.

Road accident studies have shown that the most effective way to alert road users to the presence of another human being is to make the human form as recognisable as possible. Natural reactions and primal instincts then take over.

Visibility aids should therefore replicate human physiological and, wherever possible, use them to highlight the natural movements of the human body.

Lighting the human form through 360˚ to create a 3D form also improves other road users' judgement of speed and distance.
