Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon Exalith 25 Wheel Rear

This carbon wheel offers an optimal balance of low frontal drag and crosswind stability making it a perfect upgrade for making your road bike more aero.

Crosswind stability means you can ride Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon Exalith wheels in all conditions (unlike first-generation time-trial/triathlon bike disc wheels, which are horrible to ride in crosswinds).

What's more, the wheel's Exalith alloy brake track overcomes most carbon wheels' main shortcoming - compromised brake performance when the wheels heat up on long downhills.

Exalith Brake Track
The rim's brake track is an Mavic exclusive aluminium alloy whose brake performance is 18% more efficient than their previous best alloy rims. Another bonus is that Mavic's Exalith treatment will last for 1,000s of miles so the wheels will retain their carbon stealth black good looks. If you want the lightweight stiffness of carbon wheels without sacrificing braking performance, these wheels come highly recommended.

Instant Drive 360 freehub mechanism
The wheel's freehub Instant Drive 360 ratchet drive system is mechanically simpler, lighter weight and it engages almost twice as fast as traditional pawl mechanisms.

  • The wheel takes a Shimano/SRAM-compatible 9/10/11-speed cassette
  • The rims are 17mm wide (internal width) and 45mm high
  • Recommended tyre size: 700x25 to 700x32mm
  • Straight pull (stronger than J-bend), bladed, double butted steel spokes (16 on the front, 20 on the back)
  • Isopluse lacing - the spokes are laced radially on the drive side and 2-cross on the non drive side to maximise drive side dish, thus providing a better spoke tension balance between left and right flanges.
