Liv Invite 2019 Women's Adventure Bike
Liv's female friendly cross-style bike AKA commuter road bike with advanced TRP Spyre-C disc brakes, Shimano Sora 2x9 drivetrain and a lightweight ALUXX-Grade frame.
- The Liv Invite's cross-inspired geometry (70 degree head angle and 74.5 degree seat tube angle in small) makes for a balanced, sweet-handling bike with true road bike acceleration potential. Giant's own Crosscut AT 2 700x38 tyres are smooth rolling on roads, but also offer cushioned comfort if you take an off-road detour.
- ALUXX single butted 6061 aluminium frameset built from scratch by the world's most experienced aluminium frame builders - Giant.
- The lightweight shock-absorbing Advanced Grade Composite carbon fork legs further contribute to the Liv Invite's shock-damping, responsive, fast-steering, exciting ride.
- Shimano Sora STI 2x9 gear shifters and mechs are smooth and reliable and offer a good range of gears via the 32/48 chainset and 11-34 cassette
- STI means Shimano Total Integration. The gear shifters are integrated with the brake levers so you can change gear any time without having to remove your hands from the brake lever hoods
- Equipped with all-weather disc brakes, and being full mudguard and rack compatible, a Liv Invite offers much of the versatility that makes cross bikes so attractive.
The Benefits of Disc Brakes on a Road Bike
Proven for over a decade on mountain bikes and better quality hybrids, the benefits of disc brakes are now becoming more and more recognised on road bikes too. Moving the brakes from the mud and rain-attracting wheel rims to the relatively clean hubs makes for an improvement in the brakes’ all-weather all-conditions performance. Disc brake pads are much harder so they last much longer. That's why disc brakes tend to need far less maintenance compared with rim brakes - they don't require such frequent adjustment to compensate for brake pad wear. The wheel rims will almost certainly last much longer too now that they are no longer being worn down by the brake pads.
TRP Spyre disc brakes
TRP (Tektro Racing Products) Spyre disc brakes deliver confidence-inspiring all-weather performance.
Unlike the majority of mechanical disc brakes, which only have one moving piston, TRP Spyre disc brakes have two. Both pistons move equally against the rotor. The result: more consistent and even braking performance, less likelihood of brake rub and less maintenance required.
'TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes are the best non-hydraulic road bike and cyclo-cross stoppers we've used.' road.cc.
Bar top levers
Noting that many women don't appreciate being stretched out on the drops over a whole bike ride, the Liv Invite comes with Giant Ergo-Control levers, which make it easy to operate the brakes while riding with your hands perched comfortably on the bar tops. These cyclocross-style brake levers augment the standard drop bar STI levers.
Liv
Liv's ambition is 'to make cycling more approachable and appealing to women'. As far as we know, Liv is the only women's global bicycle brand that is entirely staffed by women. Liv bicycles' designers, engineers, and managers - every employee is a woman. That's exceptional in the bike trade. The fact that Liv is a semi-autonomous part of Giant - the world's largest quality bicycle manufacturer - helps ensure every Liv bike is exceptional too in terms of the quality of spec on offer at every price point.
Here's how Liv describe the Invite

The lightweight ALUXX Invite won’t shy away from a little work — enjoy the option to add panniers and bike bags to truly revamp your ride, making it a master accomplice in outdoor escapades or the around-town errand goddess.
Why We Love It
Here it is — your invitation! Planning your next adventure on road, dirt or both starts now.
