NORTH SCOTLAND CYCLING ROUTE GUIDES<\/h2>\n

ABERDEEN TO UDNY<\/h3>\n

\u201cA lovely route from Aberdeen to Udny, out on quiet roads, Grandholm~New Machar~Udny Green~Udny.\u00a0 Perfect for a coffee run to the Coffee Apothecary in Udny (very welcoming to cyclists) returning to town on the old railway path, now part of the Formartine and Buchan Way; a fun, straightforward 50km route.\u201d \u2013 Derek<\/p>\n

BANCHORY TO THE FALLS OF FEUGH<\/h3>\n

\u201cStart off from Banchory, over the Dee Bridge, hang a right\u00a0 up towards Scolty Hill\u00a0 go straight ahead\u00a0 to Blackhall , take the\u00a0 road and then track to the Shooting Lodge\u00a0 and along the river past Rapids and pools and beautiful estate house over the river keep straight up through a\u00a0 magical\u00a0 old\u00a0 quarry pool and a final left and right\u00a0 up to the Shooting Greens Car Park. Instead of going back on the high route across the hill tops. Turn left out of\u00a0 car park\u00a0 and scream down the hill with amazing views of Cloch na Ben (Devil\u2019s Nose), you can even stop at the Feughside Inn for a great cup of tea and scone. Then head east along\u00a0 Feughside and through\u00a0 Strachan, pronounced\u00a0 \u201cStrawn\u201d. Down last the falls of Feugh. And \u201chud tean\u201d till you cross the Dee Bridge and\u00a0 back to Banchory.\u201d \u2013 Wilson<\/p>\n

SEASIDE ROUTE TO NORTH BERWICK<\/h3>\n

\u201cNice long seaside cycle with plenty of sites, ending at North Berwick for the seabird museum and easy access for a train back \u2013 or for the really fit, the return journey!\u201d \u2013 Alan<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrie-Linlithgow-California on quiet and beautiful roads. Canal path to the Kelpies for a coffee stop and time with the Big Horses. off-road route via New Kincardine Bridge, good quality cycle path all the way to Culross. Return via Forth Road bridge and back roads & cycle path.\u201d \u2013 Alan<\/p>\n

DUMFRIES TO MONIAIVE<\/h3>\n

\u201cA great route out from Dumfries station past the statues at Glenkilns, through\u00a0 Dunscore thence to hipster village Moniaive, then back.\u201d \u2013 Andrew<\/p>\n

BORDERS GALA LOOP<\/h3>\n

\u201cBeautiful, quiet loop in the Scottish borders.\u00a0 A nice balance of rolling roads with a couple of lumps thrown in for fun.\u201d \u2013 Ewan<\/p>\n

BORDERS HILLS<\/h3>\n

\u201cStarting and finishing in Innerleithen, this route takes in several great climbs around the Yarrow and Ettrick valleys, including Witchie Knowe, the little pass between Innerleithen and the Gordon Arms Hotel, and a few km of off-road coming out at Tibbie Shiel\u2019s Inn by St Mary\u2019s Loch.\u201d \u2013 Steve<\/p>\n

DUNFERMLINE TO ALLOA<\/h3>\n

\u201cNCN764 follows the former rail route from the depths of Dunfermline to just outside Alloa.\u201d \u2013 Donald<\/p>\n

CALIFORNIA, SCOTLAND TO MOSCOW, SCOTLAND<\/h3>\n

\u201cJust south of Falkirk, there is a village called California, you can take NCR754 from there west to Glasgow and then the A77 quiet road south to the Ayrshire\u00a0 village of Moscow.. Distance is 46.8 miles according to Google and\u00a0 four hours to cycle.\u00a0 You are then in Moscow, Ayrshire and\u00a0 could make a round trip back to Edinburgh by heading south to Galston and then Sorn where you turn east to Muirkirk and then on along the A70 to cross the M74 and from there up to Carstairs then Carnwath and back to Edinburgh on the Lang Whang. Take train to Polmont if you\u00a0 don\u2019t want to cycle the first bit.\u201d \u2013 Martin<\/p>\n
