It is composed of 2 Time Trials, 6 Sprint stages, 7 Hilly stages and 6 High Mountain stages. Some of the more notable climbs of this year are La Planche de Belle Filles, Col du Geanon, Col du Galibier and the famous Alpe d\u2019Huez.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brands seen at Tour de France 2022 that you can get your hands on:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edinburghbicycle.com\/bikes\/specialized\/road-bikes\"> Specialized <\/a><\/li>\n<li data-stringify-border=\"0\" data-stringify-indent=\"0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edinburghbicycle.com\/bikes\/giant\/road-bikes\"> Giant <\/a><\/li>\n<li data-stringify-border=\"0\" data-stringify-indent=\"0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edinburghbicycle.com\/bikes\/merida\/road-bikes\"> Merida Carbon Road bike <\/a><\/li>\n<li data-stringify-border=\"0\" data-stringify-indent=\"0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edinburghbicycle.com\/garmin\"> Garmin <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b> Who are the Riders: <\/b><\/h3>\n<p>This year\u2019s race sees 8 top British riders on the start line:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Geraint Thomas (2018 Tour de France winner),<\/li>\n<li>Chris Froome (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 Tour de France winner),<\/li>\n<li>Adam Yates,<\/li>\n<li>Fred Wright,<\/li>\n<li>Tom Pidcock,<\/li>\n<li>Connor Swift,<\/li>\n<li>Luke Rowe,<\/li>\n<li>Owain Doull.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The favourites to win are Tadej Pogacar (2020, 2021 Tour de France winner) and his compatriot Primoz Roglic;. However, both Adam Yates and Geraint Thomas will both be eyeing up the victory as well, while Chris Froome seems to be eyeing up collecting a few stage wins.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"max-width: 600px\" src=\"https:\/\/www.edinburghbicycle.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/222\/2025\/04\/7716_5719_8006_2022-tour-de-france-map.jpg\" alt=\"2022-tour-de-france-map.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><b> What do the Coloured Jerseys mean: <\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The race leader will wear a yellow jersey. They will add up each rider\u2019s time at the end of every stage, and the rider with the quickest overall time will wear the yellow jersey the following day.<\/p>\n<p>The Green Jersey is the one that the sprinters fight for, collecting points throughout the stages at intermediate sprints during the stage and at the finish of one of the 5 sprint stages.<\/p>\n<p>The Polka Dot Jersey is awarded to the King of the Mountain.
