\"ricardo.jpg\" We always love to recruit sound, experienced mechanics. When Ricardo Gomez applied for a job in our Bruntsfield Edinburgh workshop in March 2013, we quickly discovered his skill set was exceptional.<\/p>\n

Ricardo learned to work on his own bike at the age of 8 and decided, at that early age, that\u2019s what he wanted to do for a living.<\/p>\n

Between 2005 and 2009 Ricardo worked for Mondraker, a mountain bike manufacturer in his native Spain. He started off as factory lad\/cleaner\/floor sweeper. His manager quickly recognised Ricardo\u2019s mechanical talents so he was promoted to the position of chief wheel builder. He then graduated to being appointed Mondraker\u2019s head mechanic and team manager, wrenching for their MTB team at European Cup level. A move to Galicia led to a year working for Team Trek\u2019s technical services before coming over to Scotland, where he felt immediately at home when he was offered a job at the Bike Co-op.<\/p>\n

Asked to describe his philosophy on bicycle mechanics, Ricardo commented, \u2018instead of worrying about problems, use your experience and imagination to seek solutions\u2019.<\/p>\n
