First thing to note is that there is no rear suspension on a hardtail so they will be less forgiving on the downhill sections &#8211; the benefit of this is that you will develop handling skills and line choice on a hardtail quicker and therefore will make you a more capable rider.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the benefits of a hardtail come down to it having no rear suspension &#8211; as there is no excess movement on the rear of the hardtail, this makes them more efficient at climbing and cross country mountain biking.
