Upcoming Bike Co-op Supported Rides

Find out about some of the rides we are supporting in the vicinity of our shops from as far north as Aberdeen to Sheffield and Manchester in the south, via Newcastle, Leeds and Edinburgh, over the next few months.

Edinburgh Festival of CyclingEdinburgh Festival of Cycling (EdFoc) 2014 12-22 June 2014

Edinburgh has prided itself in being described as The Festival City since the launch of our International and Film Festivals in the 1940s, followed in subsequent decades by The Fringe, The Book Festival, the Science Festival and so on, till we got to 2013 and the launch of a nine-day Edinburgh Festival of Cycling (EdFoc).

With its inclusive programme, the inaugural Edinburgh Festival of Cycling offered something for cyclists of every niche and all ages, whether you were a complete bike nut or just mildly curious.

EdFoc was such a success, its bold, ambitious organisers are putting on an Edinburgh Festival of Cycling this year, which will run from 12 to 22 June.

EdFoc 2014 promises an even more diverse line up of bike rides, films, workshops, talks, try-outs, classes and so on, which you can read about here.

Alternatively, you can pick up one of EdFoc’s nice, wee, back-pocket-sized programmes at our Bruntsfield or Canonmills Edinburgh shops.

LepraEdinburgh – St Andrews LEPRA Ride – Saturday 14 June 2014

The fact that this will be the 34th annual LEPRA Ride is proof of its enduring popularity – and the quality of its scenic route from Edinburgh to St Andrews Ride.

All funds raised on this 68-mile charity fun ride go to LEPRA. To quote LEPRA’s chief fundraiser, Ros Kerry:

‘I find it so moving that the Edinburgh – St Andrew riders use their legs, their hands and their eyes to raise money for leprosy sufferers, who are deprived these basic faculties by a disease which LEPRA is committed to eradicating.’

Because this charity survives on the tightest budget, the LEPRA ride has never had the capacity to take online bookings. Until now.

That’s right. For the first time ever, you can sign up for the 2014 Edinburgh to St Andrews Ride online – so you have no excuse not to this year.
