Sheffield Brompton Ride Saturday 25 April 2015

Sheffield Brompton Ride 01For the third year in a row, Alan from our Sheffield shop is helping organise a day out for Brompton riders in association with LBC (London Brompton Club).

This ride is open to everyone – as long as you do it on a Brompton. (Riders under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.)

There will be no charge for participating in this ride and no need to register. Simply turn up at Sheffield Railway Station at 10:30am. When we set off we will be riding briefly with Sheffield Space for Cycling before heading out to the countryside

If you are coming by car, you’re welcome to leave it at our Sheffield store’s car park and ride with our guys from the shop to the station, leaving at 10:15am.

The planned circular loop will take you from Sheffield city centre and back again via Malin Bridge, Worral, High Bradfield, Dale Dike, Low Bradfield and Loxley.

The ride won’t be too strenuous – only around 15 miles – and there will be lunch and tea stops along the way (you pay for your own food).

If you fancy the ride but you don’t have a Brompton, give our Sheffield shop a call (dial 0114 255 8580 and ask for Alan Knott) and we might be able to organise lending you a demo bike (you will be asked to bring along id and leave a refundable deposit).

As a reward for participating, Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op are creating special T-shirts to give away to the first 50 riders who turn up.

And for Brompton riders in Scotland, there is “Bromptonites – the Brompton Bicycle Club”, based on meetup.com . We organise social rides in and around the Central Belt, and sometimes beyond, taking advantage of buses and trains and ferries. In May we will be celebrating our 5th birthday with the traditional pilgrimmage to Great Cumbrae Island where Bromptonites was born.

What a lovely set of people, was a pleasure meeting you all.
I really enjoyed the day, and can not wait for the next event, if you could manage to put up with me again.

fantastic ride today – this was the first group ride I’ve ever organise, so was pleased to bits that people seem to have enjoyed it so much and coped with the hills ( living in the area I think I forget that not everyone takes them for granted) Support from Alan and EBC was great , as ever.

One day would love to come up and meet some of the Bromptonites

It was a beautiful event, well organised around some of the TDF course around Sheffield. Huge thanks to the Edinburgh Bike Co-op for the time and effort that they put in and the lovely goodie bag. It was great to get involved in the Share Cycle event in Sheffield today. Roy and I have been on three of your events now, wouldn’t miss them. Great that this event always attracts a lot of lady riders, makes it a very sociable day.

Many thanks to Alan & the team from EBC for organising another brilliant ride. We were treated to amazing views, good food and most importantly, a friendly and supportive group of people who helped us all up those hills. This is becoming one of the most anticipated London Brompton Club rides for those of us living in the north (and across the country). Cheers
