Giant Store by Edinburgh Bike Coop

We came to the store hoping to find 2 cardboard bike boxes for our flight. We not only found exactly what we were looking for but also a very, very friendly and helpful person working there.
Excellent, kind and helpful service providing high quality bicycles and equipment. Highly recommend.
Edinburgh Bicycle Coop, Bruntsfield

Took e bike in as gears were ‘slipping ‘. Not only was the job of fixing the problem done efficiently and well but David patiently explained the workings to a somewhat bewildered owner as well as trying to help us find a suitable bike carrier for our wee schnauzer. Many thanks for your help.
I bought a gravel bike using the cycle to work scheme a year ago, the bike was assembled and delivered by Edinburgh Bicycle Coop. However the bike was damaged on arrival and I have had no end of maintenance issues with the bike since purchase, which other bike mechanics have put down to poor assembly quality. Although their customer service was great, sadly their workshops quality lets them down.
Bought a whyte secta rs here in the summer holiday. The employees were nice and helpfull.would recomend.
Not the best experience. Purchased from Edinburgh bicycle coop as they’re local and I figured they were experienced. We purchased daughters frog bike. It was built and then checked prior to our receipt. On getting home when we removed it from car the front wheel literally fell off as it had not been secure properly. We fit this back on and then noticed the brakes were gripping the wheel when it shouldn’t. To make things worse my daughter went to ride it and within minutes we noticed the alignment was totally wrong. When handle bars were straight the front wheel was offset and pointing approx 10 degrees to the left. Not great.
Excellent product, super friendly and helpful staff, and brilliant after-sales customer service. Thank you team
Fantastic customer service with very friendly staff. Jaime fixed my Brompton very quickly and did a really good job. Highly recommended.
Purchased a Frog 47 online for my grandson. I had never heard of Edinburgh Coop but the only other online retailer I could find to deliver a bike to the Isle of Man was SportsDirect. So an easy decision really and I was not disappointed. The bike was delivered in a few days and I only had to fit the pedals and straighten the handlebars. My grandson loves his shiny new Frog. Thank you Edinburgh Bicycle Coop!
Great shop, brilliant service! These guys saved us when we had to pack our bikes into airline-approved boxes at short notice because we had to change planes spontaneously!!
We’ve always chosen to support Edinburgh Bike Coop as a local independent shop, but today’s experience has completely destroyed our trust. We purchased a helmet clearly price-marked at £54.99, yet at the till were asked to pay over £100. When we queried this, we were told it was an “error” and that we would need to pay the new, higher price. The manager we spoke to was dismissive and rude. We were eventually offered a small discount – but only against the inflated price, which was still far above what was advertised. The whole experience came across as dishonest, unfriendly, and aggressive. Very disappointing service, and sadly, I won’t be returning.
‘Standard service’ turned my trusty e-bike into a death trap.I have been a customer at this store for several years and very grateful for it. But this week when my bike was serviced they omitted to secure the headset/headtube, so when I cycled away the bike fell apart in the road immediately outside the shop.Thankfully the road was quiet, cars stopped and some lovely Edinburgh pedestrians came to help me, so I was injured but not killed.Over 3000 miles on my beloved bike, lots of rough terrain and a couple of tumbles, but never experienced the bike fall apart until this service. The bike staff explained the final check to secure the headset/headtube had been omitted. Anyone can make a mistake and they were super-apologetic (including full refund of £159.99 and replacement helmet for my smash – thank you Ryan and Lee). But when Head Office got involved, the story changed and they said it was actually my fault! They have categorised it as a ‘bicycle accident’. This is dangerous for future customers – I will not return.
I have been in here twice so far and both times I’ve had very helpful staff really give me their time to go through my questions.Had recommendations to adjust my current kit instead of just buying new pieces which tells me that these guys are not here just to rob you of a pound any chance they get. Will be recommending this bike shop just as they’ve been recommended to me (for obvious reasons)
Been here a few times and always been good but recent experience has been left unsatisfactory.Had a front tyre puncture, after discussing the back tyre was a little worn too so we agreed to replace both tyres for £90.Next day I get a call saying all done it’s £110/£120 (I forget) I’ve fitted two inner tubes as well. When I was surprised he insisted this was what was agreed which is incorrect. When I went to the store he eventually refunded one of the inner tubes but still charged £102.I should have been called before the additional fee job was completed and I should have been charged the £90 only. Also not clear why two inner tubes were required when only one tyre was punctured. Neither of the inner tubes were punctured though one was worn.Seemed to be perfectly happy with me leaving unsatisfied.
Very helpful team at ebc. Sourcing good deals on continental tyres in particular. What’s happened to the Strava club?
Everytime remarkable. Everyone of them. If you want to learn about customer service, go to a bike shop. This bike shop.I love Roderies hello and they like benji the dog.Thank you for being amazing, everytime. You love bikes.
They did it well, quickly and reliably too. From Edinburgh to Winchester in 48 hours. Very helpful and knowledgeable. An obscure Tern item but they had it. Well done.
Great vibe in the shop. Friendly and knowledgable staff, good selection of products.Would reccomend a visit if in the area
Fantastic service! I picked up my Specialized Turbo Vado today and cycled it 50 miles back to Perth. The staff spent over an hour with me – fitting the panniers and a quad lock mount for my phone so I could sat nav home. All features of the bike explained. For anyone interested – the bike is amazing! I arrived home with 45% charge remaining. I’d used eco almost all of the way but used sport for some of the hills.I’d definitely recommend the Edinburgh Bicycle Coop. Far better than buying online
I have been a customer of Edinburgh Bicycle on-and-off for 20+ years and purchased my first ‘proper’ bike from them all those years ago. These days I’m a pretty committed cyclist with a stable of quality bikes. Thank you Edinburgh Bicycle for helping me get off to a good start on my cycling journey!Back in the day it seemed like they were the only show in town and were the obvious go-to bike shop for me. I always admired their cooperative model and, until now, completely trusted their knowledge and service.Sad to say that I’ve been left extremely disappointed by the experience of helping a close friend purchase a new bike from them. I’ve witnessed first-hand interactions with 3 different staff members over a period of weeks running from poorly informed initial sales advice to the bike being handed over without being set up properly, wrong accessories fitted and other purchased accessory not fitted at all. After sale service hasn’t been any better with a distinct reluctance to sort out the set-up issues in a reasonable timeframe and the suggestion that the issues were my friend’s fault (when as an experienced cyclist I could see that this was clearly not the case).Giving an extra star for residual nostalgic goodwill for a company I have viewed fondly for many years but at this stage I would frankly advise against buying a bike from them.
Delighted with bike, still discovering more ways in which it can be used, and am aware of the supportive and positive approach of the staff.
I don’t usually review stores but I have some things to say. Bought a new bike here in September and thought it was a bit pricy I was very happy with the quality (and still am) but I feel like the service could be slightly better and the employees a bit better informed. Firstly, as I understood it (and believe I was told though they claim otherwise) I had a free 6 month and 1 year service but it was in fact a 6 week and 1 year. Given the fact that they send you all receipts by email you would think they could remind you about the service or at the very least do the 6 week service after 6 months and then another at a year since it costs them the same. Since I had a few minor issues with the bike (that to their credit they fixed at the service), I wanted to bring in the bike early for my 6 month service at which point they informed me that no 6 month service was offered and that the only option would be to do the 1 year service early and miss out on it.Now to the point of the misinformation – I wanted to buy lights for my bike when I bought the bike. This was my first time owning a bike and previously I had always borrowed or used bike share services. I was certain that there was a non battery powered light option that took power from the pedaling motion of the bike (I now know they’re called dynamo powered lights). I didn’t know the terminology back then, but all the other bikes I’d used used this tech so I was sure this existed. Now they don’t sell these lights , which is fair enough but the salesperson was very dismissive and condescending of me when I asked if they had this kind of light (describing it as something that was powered by the wheel motion). He was very confident in saying that such tech didn’t exist and said it in a manner that made me feel very small. Perhaps he just wanted to convince me to buy their battery powered light which I now have to recharge almost every 2 days because the battery quality deteriorated so fast.
I’ve been coming here for quite a few years now and have found staff extremely helpful and kind. Lukasz (?) and Jaime have sorted out my bike’s problems in sometimes unconventional ways, going above and beyond!
At 74 I still love a good gravel ride. My Revolt in a great shade of red is just the ticket. Safe, great to ride and trustworthy. I use it whenever the weather isn’t too bad. Old bones don’t like a soaking 🙂
Edinburgh Bicycle Coop, Canonmills

It is our local bike shop & very happy that it is! They have fitted our boys with bikes & serviced our bikes to a high standard and reasonable price.Highly recommend – friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Always human and good customer service. Fixed courier issues beyond their control and very helpful. Consistently great bikes, choice and care across decades.
Friendly and helpful. As a woman that doesn’t know a whole load about bikes, and was struggling to get my tyre back on after a puncture, I appreciated the relaxed and friendly vibe. The staff were understanding and offered advice to help me, without being condescending. I didn’t feel intimidated; they had time for my questions and I will definitely be going back.
Brilliant service, communication on timeline for my bike arriving, and genuine engagement on my New Bike Day. I really recommend buying your next bike here
Please update your Google listing to show when you are actually open. It’s frustrating to cycle all the way to your door because Google says you are open when you are not.
Took my daughter’s bike in after Santa delivered it to adjust the brakes. Quickly sorted by John with excellent service, thank you it was much appreciated.
Every time I’ve been in this shop they have all been really helpful and friendly.John gave great advice and help buying a bike the was suitable for me and with a seat on the back for my toddler. Getting the right bike has meant that I’m out on it all the time and me and my daughter love it!
I came down from liverpool yesterday and aquired a flat on my wheelchair. It’s Sunday so I didn’t think I could get anywhere but this place and it’s amazing staff were open and fixed my tyre and another issue ive been having with the chair. Now its like new againagain.
Very helpful and looked at a problem with my bike and sorted it very quickly. Cheers for the help and the new bike lock 😀.
A truly first class service at the bicycle coop Canonmills. Had issues with the batteries on two Brompton bicycles I have and the service I received from diagnostics to resolution were truly top notch. In this respect I have to give store manager John top marks in the way he handled the entire process.
Always expert and friendly service here. The guys keep me on the road – thanks!
Very helpful and friendly. Problem with both tyres on bike not inflating after a long period of inactivity. Verified tyres ok .. but pump not😂. No charge made. but then I will return and buy a decent pump. Good decent service👍
Fantastic service and so helpful! Fixed my power attachment for my wheelchair in very little time, highly recommended! 😃⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Went in here today with a bike my son got given, was in pretty poor shape and the bloke in there immediately showed me what was wrong with it, how to fix it. Up front, friendly, knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Amazing service, went in having my wheel stolen and needing a few updates and the guys were nothing but helpful and happy to give advice ! Plus Had my bike fixed and ready in an hour. Thanks !
Amazing service again today. Broken chain. Fixed straight away and back on the road!
Always happy to help! Very good service for customers whether it’s a quick fix or a full bike service.
This is the best bike shop on the planet. Very grateful that John and Scott have kept me in the game of cycling over the last couple of years. This is the place for servicing, bike upgrades and all other bike related meltdowns. Quick turnarounds, top quality and always unbelievably helpful. Couldn’t recommend enough !!
Had help from john and scott getting a few things put on and checked for my bike. Great guys really friendly!
The staff is not very friendly or welcoming. I paid for the service I needed and while the job itself was done, the overall experience was disappointing. They made no additional effort beyond the bare minimum: they didn’t clean the bike (even when I asked for it after I paid) , didn’t point out any potential issues or weaknesses it might have, and seemed uninterested in the work. For the price charged, I expected at least some level of extra care or customer engagement. Instead, the atmosphere was unwelcoming, and it felt like they just wanted to get it over with rather than provide good service. I left with my bike fixed, but without any sense of value for money.
I have just left the shop in Rodney Street in disbelief. The chap i asked advice for was totally disinterested and brushed me off. “Do you have the thicker version of this lock” answer – “all we have is whats on the racks”. No offer to source another or offer further help. Seemed more interested in maintaing his ginger moustache whilst remaining upright in a slouched cross legged position on two of the four legs of his seat. A far cry from the enthusisam shown by Jed and his colleagues in the 1980’s Bruntsfield shop. Will take to trip to stockbridge or musselburgh for the great bike shops in future.
Edinburgh Bicycle Coop is my go to bike shop when I’m in Edinburgh. Everyone is super friendly and enthusiastic. I recently had a run in with an Edinburgh pot hole. I took my bike to the Coop and they kindly checked it out to make sure there weren’t any hidden problems – no charge.
Found the service great -super helpful and very reasonable price – time taken for a tricky extra job to stabilise my basket without being charged extra. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you ☺️
I popped in looking for a bike lock for some cupboard doors. The colleague was super helpful and friendly and found me a very well priced option for my needs in record quick time – which was handy as I’d just gone in on my lunch break. Highly reccomend, good local shop – and much easier than shopping online for these sorts of things!
Fantastic bike shop!! Excellent e-bike service, they checked my battery health, even fixed my wobbly bike basket and only charged me about half the price I was expecting! Highly recommend!!
I brought my elderly Kalkhoff electric bike in for a replacement chain (the original one had broken) and attention to the brakes. The work was carried out without ado and in a short time.
Recently purchased a Brompton G-line bike from their Canonmills store. The guys in the shop were very helpful, spending plenty of time to discuss different options etc. I was able to try 2 different sizes of the bike on back-to-back test rides, and they also put some spd pedals onto the bike for me as that is my preference. It is worth noting that they provide a 6 week check on a new bike and a free service after 12 months. A clear 5 stars!
I feel so lucky to stay in Canonmills and have Edinburgh bike coop near to my flat. The guys are very kind and always ready to help. The last time I stopped there it was a rainy night. Probably, I was the last customer and my bike was very muddy and completely wet. My front derailleur stopped working and I could not regulate my front gears. Not being scared by the mud, the guys promptly helped me, fixing my bike and not letting me pay. They said it was an easy job. The least I can do is leave a great review here! Thank you guys 🙂
Highly recommended shop! Every experience I’ve had in here has been overwhelmingly positive, the staff in particular are so friendly and helpful. I do most of my maintenance myself, but when I need something specific that I don’t have the tools / experience for, the shop has always been able to help out really promptly which I really appreciate. 10/10 – will be back soon. Thanks!
Absolutely amazing shop with incredibly kind and helpful staff! We were visiting Edinburgh and had an issue with our younger son’s buggy.Phil at the shop went above and beyond to assist us, fixing the issue promptly and refusing to charge us for it. His kindness and generosity were truly heartwarming. If this is the level of care they extend to visitors, I can only imagine the exceptional service they must provide to bike enthusiasts.Highly recommend this place for anyone in need of assistance or looking for expert advice!
Edinburgh Bicycle Coop, Newcastle

Mega helpful staff members and a great boutique choice of bike accessories and bikes
Spoke to Jonny today on phone, listened to my requirements on C2W and gave sound advice including current stock. Already glad nominated them for certificate, before even choosing the bike!
Dealt with a warranty replacement of a Specialized frame for me and were super helpful from start to finish and after. Quick service, great communication, hugely helpful after sales support for something that wasn’t their responsibility. Bike was set up perfectly including the saddle being at the right height (great attention to detail). Wholeheartedly agree recommended.
Great lads, fixed my bike for free. Thanks so much! Will be a lifelong customer now.
They fixed my e-bike in no time at all. I was given brilliant advice on which parts could be upgraded to make my bike last longer, as some items seemed a bit dodgy when bought new. I did have to pay for the parts, but the repair charges were pretty cheap. There’s a huge range in store – helmets, bikes, and bike lights – something for every budget. They even told me if I need a pump passing by as I am always flying around Byker to just pop in. Brilliant service.
Really grateful for the prompt efficient support with securing the carbon seat post on my new Liv Devote Advanced 2 at very short notice on Sunday 27th July. And for finding the best seat height for my mostly off road trip from Ardgay to Cape Wrath. You got it spot on, a little low for the road, but just right for the rougher gravel (though some too steep -both up and down for me).I feel confident in recommending Edinburgh Bike Coop Newcastle store to all.
This shop is amazing!! I arrived on my bike with a shamano pedal falling off, and although there were many customers, after 5 minutes they fitted a used replacement pedal for free!!Outstanding customer service and very knowledgeable staff. I tipped £10 anyway but they were helping me for free!!I’m from down south and it would’ve taken 3 weeks and £100 .I limped my poor bicycle into the shop and within 10 minutes flat back on the road. These guys are Outstanding! I never expected to be treated so well.I’d give 10 stars if I could.Amazing amazing amazing!!
Thank again to the team at EBC Newcastle. First class service with as smile, as always.
The staff here are brilliant. They fixed a puncture/tyre tear on my Airnimal when I was trying to get home to Edinburgh despite the mechanics being fully booked. Good range of kit to choose from as well.
I’m solo cycling self-supported from Edinburgh to Amsterdam. I ran into a few mechanical issues today (2 flats and a crank arm). I stopped by Edinburgh Bicycle Coop and their service department was fully booked. When they realized I was in a bit of a bind they took my Trek 920 in immediately and fixed the issue with the rear tire (I could not get it seated properly), and torqued the crank arm ( I could only do so much with the tools I had).I appreciate their willingness to help get me back on the road. If I lived here they would definitely be my bike shop for sales and service. Thanks again guys!! 💯
The lads were absolutely amazing, didn’t have a clue about e-bikes, we were in the shop for ages, they were so patient with our daft questions and trying so many bikes, needless to say we ordered a bike that suits my partner like a glove. Can’t thank you all enough, Terry loves his bike and we will be back for gloves, lock and bag.Thank you so much lads. 100% recommend this shop.
Put my brand new kado ebike in for its 6 weeks service with a few small faults one been a lower frame grommet that would not stay in , on picking bike up this had not been looked at sales staff did try pushing it back in but on getting bike back it just popped back out, rang them up and asked to speak to a manager and was told to ring back on bank holiday Monday as no manager was available, still waiting, fixed bike myself with glue and tape cos that’s how you fix a £4500 bike, will never get any more of my money
Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. No sales pressure and willing to spend as much time with you explaining different aspects of bikes and trying different set ups to suit. Excellent service.
I had a fantastic experience at Edinburgh bike coop! I brought in my bike for a complete build and they managed to turn it around in the same day, which was incredibly convenient. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about bikes. They did a great job with the build, and my bike rides perfectly. Highly recommend this place for their excellent service and speedy turnaround!
I had been recommended to book our E-Bikes for service with Edinburgh Bicycle Coop, by a friend, and we had a brilliant experience there. They were responsive and helpful over the phone initially, and when it came to taking the bikes there, they were helpful again, listening to the questions we had about the bikes, as we were new to E cycling. The team fully serviced both bikes superbly, and went through the service details, explaining things with care and attention. Asking if we would like a little guidance in how to care for our bikes, they again explained things, and gave us great advise.I left having greater knowledge and therefore confidence, towards future E-Bike experiences.Thank you so much to the whole team, who obviously take great care, producing quality work together as a community, towards the future for cycling.
Great service once again. We took a bike which we originally bought from them for repair following an accident. The parts were sourced, fitted and the bike returned. We were very happy with the service provided.
Always friendly and helpful staff, a good range of bikes and accessories, and prompt repairs at a fair price. Of course you can find a better range and prices online, but you can’t buy the experience and advice online. Use them or lose them!
Edinburgh Bicycle Coop, Leeds

We visited the shop yesterday evening to look for a new bike for our son. We were greeted on entry, but the lights upstairs were off. A sign mentioned this, which was fine. We asked if we could still go up to check the bikes, and the assistant said yes, but made no effort to help and stayed seated.Upstairs, we found only one suitable bike. Our son rode it around for a while, as no one was there to assist. Eventually, the staff member came up and said he shouldn’t be riding without lights. I explained he could have come up earlier, especially since there were no other customers. He replied that we “didn’t ask for help.”I pointed out that he hadn’t offered any assistance in the first place and simply remained at his desk. As we headed downstairs, I said we wouldn’t be returning. He laughed and said, “See you later.”I’ve had positive experiences here before with other staff, but yesterday was extremely disappointing. Sadly, this visit was a 1-star experience.
I slight problem with my otherwise happy purchase of a Brompton e-bike. It was fixed within a week at no charge after a very helpful conversation with branch manager Simon and local mechanic Tyler.
The guy who served me said he was the owner. He had no customer dealing skills, he was very awkward and rude. I wouldn’t use this business ever again.
I bought some reasonably priced cycle equipment here, and was satisfied with the service from tour member of staff at the shop. He was very helpful and courteous, so this review is not intended as a reflection in any way on the shops’ staff or quality of the products, which I am sure are very good.It is more to do with the fact that I nearly got my bike stolen from outside the shop. I came out after being inside for 5 mins, and when I came out there was a man with an angle grinder about to get through my d-lock.Fortunately the man ran away when confronted, so when I asked the shop assistant if there was a CCTV camera outside so I could report this incident to the police, and provide video evidence, I was surprised to find that there wasn’t one.I’m not saying it wasn’t naive of me to leave the bike outside, or my responsibility to ask if I could bring the bike inside. Of course, I will put this whole thing down to experience and be better prepared next time. But for those of us who are not so street savvy, or familiar with bicycle theft rates in Leeds, a sign on the door saying ‘Thieves are targeting your bike, please ask to bring it inside’, would be helpful. And perhaps removing the cycle racks all together, as they are completely useless with someone who is armed with an angle grinder, in a bicycle park which is impossible to keep an eye on from inside the shop.So my review is not aimed to defame, but to spur into action. I don’t want this to happen to someone else visiting your shop. Please either take your cycle racks away, or install CCTV outside the shop. At the very least, provide your customers with information. A sign on the door is needed.I will update my review to reflect the overall experience on balance with proactive and reflective management staff once I see evidence that steps have been taken.
Bike ordered over the phone, delivered and built within a week, Great service would definitely recommend.
Stu was extremely helpful when dealing with a purchase of a new frog bike for my son. Invaluable information and advice given, wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again and recommend others.
I enquired about my child’s bike, I couldn’t fix the chain, turns out it was just the positioning of the rear wheel!! But the staff in store were very helpful and rectified the issue there and then for free!! The staff member could have quite simply explained the situation to me, and had me go away to fix this, but he went out of his way to repair it for me there and then in a few minutes. Great customer service. Also provided helpful advice around servicing and wheels for my bike. 5 ⭐️ service
Well I‘ve made my last visit to Edinburgh Cycles. Experience should have taught me that they wouldn’t be able to help but I thought It’s only a spoke for a wheel they should have that in stock, surely.Long gone are the days when you walked into a bicycle shop to be greeted by an experienced tradesman in a brown overall who would route through boxes and drawers to find the part needed to mend your bike. Unfortunately he has been superseded by young professionals sat on stools, faces glued to computer screens that despite having the wheel presented to them are unable / unwilling to help.In my experience unless you’re spending thousands on a new bike don’t waste your time trying to buy spare parts from Edinburgh cycles, just buy off the internet, it comes next day.I do not recommend this business.
Dropped in this afternoon because I was having issues with my tubeless setup. Staff were absolutely fantastic and got me sorted quickly. Thanks chaps.
I have enjoyed using the services of this excellent bike shop ever since it opened about 20 years ago. Many fine personnel have come and gone but the highest standard of customer care has been a constant. Stuart is now the manager, and he leads by example, providing a top quality customer experience. Highly recommended.
Edinburgh cycle Leeds.Excellent service today from this Bike Shop. Chris their team member was outstanding, responsive reactive and immediate.I have to say as a former non-executive director within NHS Leeds and CEo it does impress me when staff excel and go above their duty. This person did and impressed me so much helful and seized the chance to help! ThanksExcellent knowledge base, excellent customer care attentive responsive and above all very customer focused nothing is I cannot do approach with Chris. Having been in this Bike Shop with my children for many years I remember the fun we had in that shop and today Chris has reminded me of those wonderful memories . I would like management to really respond and inform other staff, who in my past exams have not had these qualities that are required in a day when expense is astronomical of bikes to learn from Chris and understand how to operate in a fast changing environment, delivering a pace and being focused.I have had to write this review, immediately after visiting the shop as a customer service was excellent, interactive cooperative understanding and as said provides the confidence that this Bike Shop and the staff are well trained and well equipped to deal with anything that walk through the door. Kind regards.
Great guys at Edinburgh Bicycle Coop. Stuart and the team are always very friendly and attentive and have years of knowledge and experience with all things to do with bicycles and they also have a great workshop. It’s easy to find and has plenty of on-site free parking, I would highly recommend you try this place.
I bought an electric bike at Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op in Chapel Allerton Leeds in 2020 and I’ve taken it back there for a service every 12 months. Always great service there with serviced bike available for collection same day. I’ve also bought bikes online before but prefer the more personal touch at Edinburgh Cycles. Based upon my experiences, I highly recommend them.
I recently bought a Whyte Wessex One from here. According to the sizing guide the only stock left would be too big. I tried a couple of Giant bikes and it turned out I actually fit a size bigger than the guide suggests. The sales guy then spent a while comparing g the Whyte and the larger giant geometry. Turns out the Whyte would be a good fit. I had nothing but positive experience from talking to the various sales people here. I would highly recommend and will continue to use them.
Edinburgh Bicycle Coop, Aberdeen

Put my bike in for a warranty/recall repair. Repair was done in 2 days despite needing a new part. Also checked over my bike and adjusted a few things that needed doing – many thanks!
Good items and the worker there gave me a free bell which was lying around which was nice. But the heavy metal music playing there was terrible.
Let me use the bathroom even though I wasn’t a customer! Thanks for being kind!
We bought a childs helmet at the Aberdeen branch. Served by a very knowledgeable and helpful gentleman. Thank you
I called in today to get my grandaughter’s tangled chain sorted. Pavel was brilliant. He didn’t only fix the tangled chain but also loosened her sticking back brake, fixed her jumpy gears, straightened her handlebars and blew up the tyres. She is totally delighted with it. Thank you again Pavel you’re an absolute star.
Third time I’ve put my bicycle into bed repaired, friendly staff always willing to help and got my bottom bracket replaced with a few other bits and bobs and Bikes like new again. Wasnt in the shop, it took me longer to pick it up than it did for them to fix it and was at a reasonable price also.Highly recommend 10/10
Just took my bike in for a repair and the employee there replaced a missing spring and fixed the problem within minutes. He refused to charge me anything for the repair too. This store is a real asset to the community and I will be booking a workshop repair in a few weeks when slots are available.
Every interaction I have with the folks here is an absolute pleasure. I come away feeling more knowledgeable and happy with the bike I got from them and how to care for it.
Excellent customer service from Chris today at Edinburgh Cycles Chapel Allerton. Sorted out my tubeless tyre. Really helpful and highly recommended. Thank you Chris.
I bought my first ‘real’ bike here last year through the cycle to work scheme. I’ve had several troubles with my bike since then, due to the cables the manufacturer provides. I am pretty clueless when it comes to bike repairs and a total newbie, each time the team have been really nice in dealing with my issue and taking in my bike for repair on short notice, as I have been training for an ultra triathlon over this past year (which meant I put in a lot of miles). We couldn’t initially figure out what the problem was, but Specialised provide a cable that is very slippery and loosens very easily, almost on every other ride, so it was a nightmare on long cycles trying to understand what happened when your bike had just been in for a check up. When the Edinburgh Cycle team replaced my cables, the issue went away completely and hasn’t come back since. There were a couple staff in who no longer work there who didn’t make me feel welcome at all, and made me feel guilty and almost blamed me for the issues I was experiencing, spoke in a condescending way, but they no longer work there for which I am grateful. I would like to say my special thanks to the manager Scott, because he’s an all around really great guy! Each time I had an issue he tried to explain the mechanics, never made me feel silly and is just generally a really nice person to talk to, who also helped me resolve my problems. The other remaining staff who all seem younger are also very nice, experienced and helpful. It’s easy nowadays to get a bike online from somewhere and put it together yourself, but you only really save a few pounds in the long run. Places like this are a testament to how valuable customer service and experience are in retail, which is what keeps small shops alive. Scott even managed to find some branded Specialised screws for my paneer attachments that were broken, because I was disappointed they didn’t provide any original replacements. This might be a small thing to some but it was such a nice gesture. I would definitely recommend this place to others as they really go above and beyond.
Chris was super helpful and very patient, bought bike here and been great service and help when needed

Recently popped into the Aberdeen store to look at Ebike, I got chatting to Toby who advised about the Levo SL carbon & alloy models, after a long chat about specs & pricing I left with all the information required, from ordering the bike to collection communication was 5*, bike has been faultless in the 500 miles iv done so far! Nice to have a knowledgeable local bikes shop with people who ride to advise! Thanks Guys
