Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op Closes in Manchester

We are extremely sad this month to say goodbye to our Manchester shop. It has not been an easy decision to make.

Our Managing Director, Jeremy Miles says: “We’ve loved serving the cycling community in Manchester for the past nine years, and it’s with a heavy heart that we’re having to close. We’re passionate about bikes, our Co-op members, and our customers, and we look forward to continuing to provide a quality, ethical service in our remaining stores and online.”

We appreciate the support that our customers have provided us with so far, and hope that they will continue to do so in the future. As a worker’s cooperative we rely on the income generated by our customers in order to employ skilled, experienced staff and to treat them well, which helps us to create the kind of shops we want to shop in.

We hope you’ll continue to support us, the bike shop with a difference!

A look back to 2007, when we first opened in Manchester…

And more recently…

Sorry to read this this. I have several bikes from the Manchester store. I always found the staff knowledgeable and friendly. Good luck to all the staff and thanks for the great service.

My mate says that your shop was the only place he could help with his electric bike and there was only one guy who could help. Do you know where he’s gone. Thanks and God bless.

Hi Jon, all our shop staff can help with electric bikes, so we’re not sure who you mean. The closest of our shops to Manchester is now Leeds, which is a bit of a trek. Did you buy your bike from us? It could still be under warranty.

Bought a sirrus comp back in 2013 and enjoyed the odd visit to your shop for a couple of years ‘ thinking of buying a new whyte bike and liked the way you could try out before purchase so looked online but only to find you have closed in Manchester so there goes that idea looks like another option than Leeds for me ‘ but sorry to see leave the North West and thanks for the previous service ‘
