Once a year, we have our AGM (and this year, it’s on Monday 15 October). This is a very important event as it is the event in where all members (including those in Leeds, Newcastle and Aberdeen) get together in Edinburgh. Since we’re a workers’ cooperative, the AGM is also a time when each of our members gets an equal vote in the direction of the business, including voting board members in or out. Technically speaking we can even vote out our own Managing Director! Talk about power to the people.

The only downside to this AGM is that it means that our Aberdeen, Newcastle, Leeds and Edinburgh Canonmills shops will be shut for the day. Edinburgh Bruntsfield will remain open and you can still shop online.
Thank you for your understanding, and we’ll see you on Tuesday!
Hi,
As a user of the shop, am I classed as a member? If not, what would I have to do to be a member of the EBC
Hi David, you’d need to come and work for us for a year to become a member. Keep a look out on our vacancies page
