Giro cycling clothing came to prominence in the 1986 Tour de France when its winner, Greg Lemond, demonstrated the benefits of their first aero helmet. In 1994, Giro reinforced their reputation as the bike helmet company with the first RocLoc - an integral anti-sway belt which ensured a better fit. Today, 99% of cycling helmets come with something similar to this Giro innovation. In 2003, Giro launched the Xen - the template for more comfortable and protective trail lids. In 2014 they were an early adopters of Mips. Since 2010, Giro have devoted equal attention to the lower extremities with a line of cycling shoes that mirrors the quality of their helmets in terms of comfort, performance and good looks.
