Product Description

Giant ATX 2 2018

Giant's sound entry-level mountain bike comes in 6 sizes from XXS for young trail dudes from around 10 years old to XL for 6' 4" adults.

To illustrate what lengths Giant go to ensure a properly proportioned, balanced bike, the XXS, and extra small ATX comes with 26" wheels. The larger sizes (S-XL) come with the new standard 27.5" wheels.

Whichever size you opt for, with its AluxX frame, SunTour suspension forks, Tektro disc brakes, Shimano 3x7 gears and Giant's own tyres, this MTB has what it takes to make it trail centre ready.

  • ALUXX the benchmark in aluminum frames
  • SR SunTour XCT 100mm travel fork - reliable shock absorber
  • Shimano EZ Fire Tourney 21 speed drivetrain with 24/32/42 chainrings and 14-34 freewheel gives you a good range of gears for getting up hills and flying down them
  • Tektro mechanical disc brake are more powerful and lower maintenance than V-brakes
  • Giant G28 rims with Joytech hubs make for sound wheels

'Giant Aluxx Aluminium Frame
From the manipulation of atomic grain structures to our advanced forming and welding techniques, Giant has been at the forefront of aluminium engineering for more than 30 years. Today, ALUXX Aluminium Technology represents the pinnacle of alloy performance.

A heritage of craftsmanship combined with unmatched manufacturing capabilities gives Giant the unique ability to monitor every step of the aluminium frame-building process. Through our cutting-edge materials science, proprietary forming techniques, and attention to detail, we are constantly advancing aluminium performance to create bikes that are lighter, stronger and stiffer. The difference can be felt in the ride. Every aluminium bike bearing the ALUXX Aluminium Technology label must live up to the highest standards and meet the tightest tolerances of any aluminium frame in the world.'

Here's how Giant describe their ATX 2 2018

Closely related to Giant XC and trail bikes, the ATX features the familiar flat-handlebar and 100mm suspension fork of a traditional XC mountain bike.

A lightweight ALUXX aluminum frame, engineered with comfortable geometry for challenging terrain, adds to its rugged personality.

The ATX also features size-specific wheel diameters—smaller size bikes use 26-inch wheels, while larger sizes use 27.5.

This tailors the bike's handling to every rider's size and height.

Powerful disc brake technology gives you confident handling no matter the weather or riding conditions. And integrated mounts let you easily add racks or fenders to suit your riding adventures.
