Product Description

Genesis Croix De Fer 10 2017

Butted CrMo frame with upgraded Shimano Sora 2x9 gearing and TRP Spyre disc brakes, you can understand why this is our best selling Genesis Croix De Fer.

With the Croix De Fer, Genesis can make fair claim to inventing a distinct bicycle category - the versatile cyclo-cross-inspired disc brake-equipped adventure road bike. That was back in 2008. For 2017, Genesis continue to get their Croix just right.

  • The frame is built with Genesis Mjölnir lightweight and compliant seamless double butted chromoly steel tubing.
  • The frame and fork have clearance for full-length mudguards.
  • The upgraded Shimano Sora RD-R3000 drivetrain matches a 50/34 chainset with an 11-34 cassette to offer a great range of gears for both the hills and the flat.
  • Kenda Flintridge 700x35c tyres run smooth on tarmac and offer cushioning on dirt roads.
  • Genesis compact flared bars, sized by bike size, offer easier transition from the bar tops to the drops.
  • The bars are comfortably finished with gel-padded cork tape.
  • TRP (Tektro Racing Products) Spyre disc brakes deserve a paragraph to themselves.

TRP Spyre disc brakes
TRP (Tektro Racing Products) Spyre disc brakes deliver confidence-inspiring all-weather performance.

Unlike the majority of mechanical disc brakes, which only have one moving piston, TRP Spyre disc brakes have two. Both pistons move equally against the rotor. The result: more consistent and even braking performance, less likelihood of brake rub and less maintenance required.

'TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes are the best non-hydraulic road bike and cyclo-cross stoppers we've used.'

'Genesis Croix De Fer 10
Our genre-defying, boundary-blurring bestseller returns for another year - evolved, refined and more capable than ever before.

The original gravel bike, with the same 'go-anywhere' attitude that's been instilled since conception. Whilst it's nice to know what a particular bike is 'for', we feel applying a specific label to a bike as versatile as the Croix' hamstrings it somewhat, pigeonholing it to one specific use, when, in reality the scope is much, much wider. As such, it's a whole lot easier to list what it 'can be' rather than what 'it is'.

Want to mount front and rear racks to the CdF and use it as a lightweight tourer? No problem.

Want to swap-in Schwalbe Marathon's, fit 'guards and use it as daily urban commuter? No problem?

Want to leave it in stock guise and use it as a mixed terrain do-it-all? No problem; the Croix' will admirably turn its hand to all.

Never has one bike been more worthy of the 'one bike, many hats' crown. Croix de Fer - supremely capable, infinitely adaptable.'
