Upgrades from Edinburgh Courier:
The Courier 700 is not so much an upgrade, more of a step sideways. The standard Courier has 26” wheels as found on mountain bikes. The Courier 700 has 700c wheels as found on most touring or hybrid bikes.
- 26” wheels are a little stronger and allow you to fit full knobbly 26 x 2” tyres should a dirty weekend ever beckon.
- 700c wheels have less rolling resistance, so they take slightly less effort to go faster.
- Ridden with finesse, 700c wheels are more than tough enough for riding streets or defined off-road tracks.
- This is obviously a personal thing but some riders consider the bigger wheeled 700c model more aesthetically pleasing than the comparatively squat 26” version.
