Brompton S6E Ti CHPT3 Edition 2018

Limited edition CHPT3 Brompton in collaboration with David Millar

Black componentry means the bars, stem, seatpost, wheel rims and spokes are black rather than the usual silver to create an even more distinctive version of the world's best love folding bike, the Brompton.

Brompton classify each model by its handlebar type, its gearing and whether or not it has mudguards and a rear rack, hence S6E

H6L

  • 'S' stands for S-Type Brompton. This means that it comes with flat (as in zero rise) bars. These flat (AKA straight) bars position the handlebar grips 935mm above ground level (cf the M-type Brompton whose U-shaped bars take the grips up to 1,015mm high)
  • '6' refers to its BWR [Brompton Wide Range] gearing which combines a 3-speed hub gear with a simple derailleur which moves the chain between 2-cogs to give you a decent range of 6 evenly spaced gears.
  • 'E' is Brompton code for coming without mudguards.
  • Collection Only from our Aberdeen, Leeds, or Canonmills

Continual Evolution
Brompton's continued growth and success is based on starting with a great idea - what is generally considered the best folding bike design - and then continually developing it as witnessed with this Black Edition Brompton.

Since 2017, Brompton have upgraded the ergonomics of every bike as follows

  • More intuitive underbar gear shifters
  • Its new lock-on grips are lighter weight and they'll never slip out of position
  • Saddle light - a special mount at the top of the seatpost makes a perfect perch for a USB-rechargeable Cat Eye LED rear light
  • Mounted on the brake lever, the sweet-toned brass bell is always within easy reach
  • You can mount the bell on the right or LH lever, whichever is more convenient

'Brompton S6E Ti CHPT3 Edition 2018
We are excited to announce that the Brompton CHPT3 edition is back in stores. The bike design showcases David Millar's unique style and compliments his newly released clothing range. David Millar, one of Britain's most successful cyclists and Tour de France stage winner, first met with Brompton CEO Will Butler-Adams 2 years ago. David rarely used a bike for commuting in the city, instead only riding when competing or training. After an in-depth conversation with Will about Brompton, David agreed to try a Brompton when travelling round London and other cities he visited. He went on to use a specially modified ‘race ready' Brompton in the Brompton World Championship Final in 2015. This kick started the collaboration with Brompton.
Brompton.
