Bern Macon EPS Helmet
Sure it's not as vented as a high-end road or mountain bike lid but, for many, the Bern Watts is way cooler.
Bern lids look so good and feel so comfortable, you'll see them sported by people who've previously sworn off wearing a bike helmet.
As with every Bern cycling helmet the Macon stands out for its exceptional fit and its low-profile design. Bern coined the phrase 'sink fit' to emphasise their lids' deep surround feel and to describe how a Bern helmet wraps around (rather than perches on top of) the head.
If you like the Bern Macon look, but you'd prefer a lid with a brim, consider the Bern Watts.
Bern liner / headband
Every Bern cycling helmet features a unique snap-fit liner/headband to help ensure comfort and an exceptionally good fit. The headband is adjustable via its CrankFit dial. The liner is padded and fast wicking for comfort. Thanks to its snap-fitting, the liner is easily removable should you ever want to hand-wash it. You'll be able to swap the helmet's original liner for a warmer winter liner when it becomes available as a spare part in mid 2015.
- EPS refers to the Bern Macon's impact-absorbing EPS expanded polystyrene liner. (Bern also make non-EPS snowboard helmets but they're not certified for bicycle use).
- The ABS outer hardshell will fend of knocks that might bruise a regular cycling helmet's microshell top layer.
- Weight: 486g based upon weighing a Bern Macon EPS Helmet at Bike Co-op HQ in October 2015.
