The Salmon Run starts from the junction with National Route 1 at the Tay Road Bridge in Dundee. It quickly passes 'Discovery Point', opposite the railway station. National Route 77 follows the winding course of the River Tay upstream. For most of its length the route takes quiet country roads and dedicated cycle paths with some short off-road sections.
