Specialized

Consistent innovators since they were founded in 1974, it's little wonder Specialized have been the Bike Co-op’s best selling brand for more than three decades. What makes Specialized truly exceptional is their ability to continually develop their race-proven technologies, whilst always striving to make their innovations available at more accessible prices. This is true whether it's a Specialized road bike, a Specialized mountain bike or a Specialized hybrid bike. A Specialized Allez entry level road bike is difficult to distinguish from a 2 grand Specialized Tarmac from 10 paces. Same goes for the Specialized Stumpjumper hardtail-derived Hardrock. This philosophy is carried through Specialized's extensive range of cycling accessories and equipment. That's why if you are looking for a best buy at any price point, more often than not, you'll find yourself opting for the Specialized helmet, the Specialized tyre, the Specialized pump, the Specialized shoe....

Ask a question
Q. I'm looking in to getting a single speed to cover both trip to work and any visits to the velodrome. Is this possible, what are the practicalties of bike set up. Does this model cover both or would I need to alter bottom bracket / crank size and wheels? Also, can a front brake be easily added?
A. The Specialized Langster can be used on the track. As standard the bike will come with front and rear brakes fitted. For the track you won't need to change the cranks as Specialized have specced the bike to be track ready. For use on the track you will need to remove both brakes, run the bike fixed (if your not already) and have a set of tyres for use on the track. The only potential issue with the Langster is that it has bottle cage bosses. Some velodromes may not yet you use the bike or race on the bike for this reason. Before ordering the bike it could be worth checking this with the track you intend to ride on.
