Specialized Hotwalk
Ride before you can pedal!
There's a growing consensus that it's easier for children to learn to balance and steer when the bike has no pedals or cranks. Hence the Hotwalk which the youngster can scoot along without fear of dunking an ankle on the pedal. Hence the lack of stabilisers which (though they have their place) can arrest the development of balancing skills, essential for riding a 2 wheeler.
New for 2011, the Specialized Hotwalk now boasts a platform on each side (where the cranks would otherwise go on a grown-up bike) so the wee rider can rest the feet when freewheeling.
- Very lightweight aluminium frame, fork and wheel rims makes the Specialized Hotwalk especially easy to handle.
- Low stepover height for stability (low centre of gravity) and maximum safety.
- The alloy fork is also very light and helps make the Hotwalk easy to control and easy to steer.
- Real Specialized 12 x 2 inch Rhythm Lite mountain bike tyres for easy rolling efficiency matched with stable traction.
- MTB-style alloy riser handlebars can be adjusted for reach.
- The Kraton rubber grips are easy to handle and confer control and comfort.
