Specialized Camber Elite
The Camber Elite represents the latest development in Specialized FSR - one of the best proven and most highly evolved suspension systems in mountain biking. The Camber's simple, ingenious inline shock placement means that bump forces through the axle are dealt with instantaneously. Making the suspension pivot points an integrated part of the frame (rather than welded-on components) highlights the benefits of Specialized’s hydroformed frame construction expertise.
Upgrades from Specialized Camber Comp
- With its alloy crown the RockShox Recon Gold fork is over half a pound (300g) lighter than the Camber Comp's Recon Silver.
- Improved modulation and control make Avid Elixirs the first choice of more and more of the world's best riders.
- Shimano Deore XT Shadow rear mech.
- Lighter weight Shimano HollowTech chainset.

To sum up, probably one of the best full suspension bikes I've ridden in a long time. Excellent handling over the rough and great pedalling efficiency from those BIG wheels but still light and nimble enough to whip around the corners. The FSR linkage does a great job of keeping any pedal bob to a minimum making the camber a great climber, especially on the steep stuff. A generally well spec'd machine for the price, you're not gonna have any real issues with the setup here. Pretty much a winner all round, a definite "confuser" for all those die-hard 26" fans out there.... Great ride for the money, would like to see a 15mm axle fork on this rather than the QR in the future though! |
