Specialized BG Trivent Sport Road Shoe
With its Body Geometry orthotic insole, it’s lightweight vented upper, its huge Velcro strap closure and its large heel loop to facilitate transitions, this is a great value triathlon shoe.
- Costs £50 less than the 2010 Trivent.
- Specialized achieved this price drop by substituting last year’s carbon sole with a less expensive but still respectably stiff (5.0 on the stiffness index) composite sole.
- Stiff injection-molded and glass-reinforced sole with generous vent ports at the front and rear.
- The mostly mesh uppers are lightweight and cool.
- 590g.

BG (Body Geometry) Shoes
Specialized employed Dr Andy Pruitt, renowned U.S. author, sports scientist and national coach, in the development of their Body Geometry range of shoes. BG Shoes boast a special footbed which optimises the foot's position and thus helps eliminate pressure on both the knee and the foot bones when you pedal. Specialized BG shoes are now easily the most popular shoes in the pro peloton. Specialized shoes incorporate three Body Geometry elements in the footbed and outsole.
- The Metatarsal Button reduces pressure on crucial bones and help prevent hotspots.
- The Varus Wedge minutely corrects the foot's position on the pedal to help ensure the knee and foot remain in optimal alignment every pedal stroke.
- The Longitudinal Arch Support does just that.
