The BG Shim Kit is the Varus Wedge element of the Body Geometry equation.

The Varus Wedge angles the forefoot slightly to 'correct' its natural canted position. This brings the foot into full contact with the pedal and eliminates rotational movement of the knee and foot.

The Specialized BG Shim Kit, which comprises +/- 1.5mm varus/valgus wedges, allows you to fine tune forefoot angle and thus optimize biomechanical foot/knee/hip alignment.

The Specialized BG Shims are designed to work best with Specialized BG footbeds / AKA insoles as featured in every Specialized BG shoe. The Shim Kit is therefore best recommended if you already own Specialized BG shoes.
