Specialized Amira
Specialized have launched their Amira range in recognition of the growing demand for zero-compromise, true road racing bikes for women.
The Specialized Amira is a women's-specific bike that shares fundamentally the same technology, and explosive acceleration that has made the Specialized Tarmac a multi-race winner over the past 7 years: only with a shorter reach, shorter standover frame design, and narrower diameter (hence even lighter weight) carbon fibre tubing.
- The FACT full carbon women's race geometry frame and fork matches speed with a welcome element of shock-dissipating comfort.
- The Shimano Tiagra 2x10 groupset delivers a good range of sweet-shifting gears (34/50 chainrings and 12-28 cassette) and super-efficient brake performance.
- Specialized's own Body Geometry Women's Jett Gel saddle with hollow Cr-Mo rails is regularly rated among the most comfortable you can buy.
- The Specialized EliteSet stem's 4-position adjustment capability makes it easier to position the handlebar as high or as low as you require.
- Specialized Espoir Sport 700x23 tyres boast BlackBelt puncture protection.
- DT Axis 2.0 boasts lightweight DT Swiss rims and spokes on machined Specialized hubs.
‘The mid-range Shimano Tiagra gruppo gets a massive facelift, gaining the newer STI lever shape, matching everything from 105 upwards. A light-action shifter feel is maintained. External tension adjusters allow on-the-fly adjustment. The new-shape levers move Super SLR brake callipers bringing improved braking power to Tiagra level.’
Cycling Weekly.
'For women who live to compete - whether it's a local crit or a city-line sprint with the weekend group - the Amira offers a light, stiff FACT carbon frame with women's-tuned geometry for optimal fit and performance, plus lightweight, high-value Shimano Tiagra components.'
