Conventional bottom-swing

The FD-M971 is a conventional bottom-swing version of Shimano's best off-road front gear. Its simpler action (not top swing) should make for even greater longevity.

• The extra wide pivots create a rigid structure that ensures assertive shifting and longer pivot life.
• A new, easier-to-access stop-screw positioning = super fast set up.
  The Shimano XTR FD-M971 Front Derailleur's multi-clamp design means it fits the 3 most common sizes of seat tube - 28.6, 31.8 and 34.9mm.
• Multi-pull means that you can fit this derailleur whether the cable routing is bottom pull (under the bb) or top pull (down the seat tube).
• Only suitable with super narrow 9-speed chains.
• Suitable for double or triple chainsets.
• Max sized chainring - 44t.
• Total recommended capacity: 22T
• Almost all-alloy construction, even the chain guide is aluminium, nickel plated for extra strength.
