SL-M970 Rapidfire Levers are the best Shimano MTB shifters, ever.

• Instant Release - the cable is instantly released when the Shimano Rapidfire Plus lever is depressed. The result: faster shifting.
• Multi-Release - a short stroke moves the chain up or down 1 cog. A longer stroke moves it up or down 2 cogs.
• 2-Way-Release - the XTR shifter's release lever can be operated by either the forefinger (as ever) or the thumb.
• Horizontally adjustable clamp bracket allows Inboard/Outboard positioning for different riding styles.
• The 9-speed rear shifter moves on 4 bearings.
• The 3-speed front shifter moves on 3 bearings.
