    Shimano XTR/Dura Ace CN-7701 9 Speed Chain

    When Shimano originally created XTR - the first really high-end MTB groupset in the 1990s - it was dubbed 'Dura-Ace for mountain bikers'. So much so, the parts are sometimes interchangeable as is the case with the CN-7701 chain.

    Q. I am replacing an HG53 Shimano chain. Will the Shimano XTR Dura Ace be okay for a like for like replacement (with slight upgrade)? It is a 9 speed cog.
