Shimano PD-A530 is a totally new concept in half SPD / half 'normal' pedals. Instead of being 'rat trap-style', the non-SPD side is more like a wide BMX-style platform pedal. This is a blessing if you agree that a wide pedal offers the most comfortable foot platform.
- Shimano PD-A530s are the perfect pedals if you sometimes like to ride 'clicked in' with dedicated cleated shoes, and other times prefer to ride 'free style' in any shoe, old or new.
- Adjustable cleat tension means you can start off with loose tension for easy engagement and release, then turn up the tension as you progress.
