(1 review)

Revolution Sprint Waterproof Overtrousers

Overtrousers are a garment you might not consider - till you take up cycling. That's when you discover that you’re only half-dressed if your sole waterproof is a jacket. You will therefore welcome the introduction of a pair of breathable waterproof overtrousers at a price that would normally buy you trews that are merely water-resistant.

  • Our breathable waterproof Sprint Trouser’s’ calf-length waterproof zips make them easy to haul on or off - no need to take off your shoes mid ride.
  • Taped seams ensure our Revolution Sprint Overtrousers really are waterproof.
  • Revolution Sprint Waterproof Overtrousers will keep your ass dry, even if you ride without mudguards.
  • The trouser cuffs are elasticated and have Velcro fasteners - no clips required to prevent trousers rubbing against the chain.
  • The reflective stripes on the trouser's rear calves help you get seen.
  • The drawstring waist will outlive trousers that only have an elastic waistband.
  • Lightweight - 360g (medium) and packable.

Edinburgh
Had these for a couple of weeks now in a few different kinds of weather so ready to review. Context: I commute 13 miles daily, all weathers, I wear these over shorts, when its cold (<10C) and when its wet. I bought them to replace my altura night vision trousers which I'd managed to hole falling off! Pros: - relatively cheap ... I still think they were pricey for a pair of waterproofs (paying the cyclists premium!), but compared to other brands its cheap. - pretty breathable - I get quite hot but they don't make me as sticky as my night vision trousers did - comfortable - material feels fine against the skin - long zips on sides - easy to get on and off - reflective - obviously nowhere near as reflective as night vision (which is a shame, Edinburgh Bicycle are missing a trick here) but there are some reflective bits - wind - great for keeping the chilly Edinburgh wind off! Cons: - waterproofing - cycling 30 mins in heavy rain last night, I was pretty wet by the end (legs, bottom was dry!). Light rain this morning and not so bad, so I would say showerproof rather than waterproof - trouser cuff fastening - a real design fault here, unless you have ankles like an elephant the velcro fastening is in entirely the wrong place and is too small to stop the trousers catching, so I still need to wear my bike clips. Really poor as this is one of the advertised features, all it would have taken is for a designer to have actually tried them on! General: - the sizing is very generous - I'm usually an XL kind of guy but I got the large and there is plenty of room - quick dispatch and delivery
Ask a question
Q. Are these trousers sized to go over non lycra trousers such as the Endura Humvees? I.e. would a medium over-trouser fit over a medium pair of Humvees?
A. The Sprint Overtrousers are designed to fit over your normal riding shorts or trousers. A medium pair of trousers should fit over your Humvee trousers. I am an extra large in most cycling clothing and having tried them on the XL Sprint Overtrousers fit comfortably over my normal cycling clothing.
