You go out on your bike, or for a hike. You need to drink. You also need to carry stuff such as the Gore Paclite jacket you'll want to take off once you've warmed up. You don't want to carry stuff on your bike. Or you can't (today's dual suspension bikes never have rack fittings and rarely have bottle cages). You need a hydration pack. Preferably one with 2 large compartmentalised front pockets for stashing wallet, tools and keys. You'll also need external bungee elastics for lashing down the Paclite jacket.
