Revolution Compact
The Revolution Compact is specially produced for Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op by Dahon - the world experts in folding bikes. The aluminium frame therefore boasts Dahon's proven hinged mechanism, renowned for its reassuring clunk-click closure. Then it's equipped with Shimano EZ Fire 6-speed gears; name-brand V-brakes; mudguards and a rack. The tyres are reflective. The seatpin and handlebar stem are hugely height adjustable. All in all, a really sound spec considering (as far as we know) it's the UK's only aluminium-framed folder for under £300.

The Genesis of the Revolution Compact
Working at Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op we are constantly learning new things about the cycling community. When we started rolling out Bike to Work schemes an unprecedented number of new customers opted for folding bikes. Perhaps new cyclists are more likely to want to combine biking with other forms of transport.
Their compact nature makes folding bikes the very dab for taking on a train or popping safely in a cupboard when storage or secure options are scarce.
Even if you mostly ride a different bike, the folder is the perfect second bike to have handy when a friend (of any size) comes to stay. This inspired us to approach Dahon (the world's biggest manufacturer of folding bikes) to produce a folder to Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op's spec and to our Revolutionary pricing.
So there you have it. The Revolution continues to unfold.
