Revolution Cadence XC

The Revolution Cadence is our women's-specific mountain bike, tried and tested since we introduced it in the late '90s.

Our women's-specific frame is based on the observation that the average women is 6" shorter than the average bloke. Moreover the 5' 6" women will have longer legs and a shorter torso than the average Joe. Sit a female on a bike built for the average male: she's obliged to overstretch to reach the bars so she'll never be comfortable on that bicycle. Hence the Revolution Cadence XC's women's-specific frame.

• The frame's shorter top tube and taller head tube makes for a shorter reach to the bars.
• This immediately helps alleviate weight on the wrists, pain in the neck and pressure from the nose of the saddle that can be caused by overstretching to reach bars that are too low and too far away.
• The women's-specific diamond frame is more efficient than the traditional women's open frame.
• It's worth saying that while our women's-specific design suits 80-90% of women, that leaves around 10/20% who prefer a longer frame and should therefore opt for the standard men's model, the Revolution Cuillin XC.
• The Cadence XC's narrower bars and shorter crank arms are also more ergonomically suited to the majority of women.

Otherwise, the Revolution Cadence XC offers the same spec and value as our Revolution Cuillin XC.

• 7005-series aluminium frame. This frame helps make the bike light enough to ride uphill without too much effort. Even if you're only moderately fit. Yet it's built strong and true so it comes with a lifetime warranty.
• 'Crud Catcher' bosses allow you to bolt an MTB mudguard to the underside of the frame down tube.
• Seat stay bosses and rear dropout eyelets allow you to fit a rear pannier rack.
• 63mm travel name-brand SR SunTour fork for bump control.
• Shimano Tourney 21 speed EZ Fire gear shifters and derailleurs are as easy to operate as the name implies.
• SR SunTour alloy chainset with size-proportioned cranks (170mm on 14 and 16 inch models; 175mm on 18, 20 and 22 inch models - because longer legs turn longer cranks more efficiently.
• Tektro alloy V-brakes - still the best Shimano-copies we have come across - with Shimano brake levers.
• Alloy wheels - lighter weight and better braking surface than steel rims. QR (quick release) for convenience - no need to carry a spanner to remove the wheels.
• 26 x 2.1 inch Innova tyres offer the bite and traction required to ride rutted trails
• 14.97kg / 33lb (based upon weighing one example of this bike. We weigh the whole bike as you would receive it with pedals reflectors and bell - items many bike companies remove before weighing their bicycles.
