Revolution Adventure Universal Panniers 28L
Similar to Revolution Adventure Rear Panniers but scaled down (30x27x12cm, no side pocket) so they are equally at home on front rack.
- The pannier's ripstop fabric is tough but not overweight.
- A mesh outer pocket keeps gloves, keys and sunnies to hand.
- Harder backed than a first edition, these panniers will never curl up and rub against the wheel.
- Fab fittings hold the bag securely to the rack.
- Stowaway yellow/orange rain covers keep stuff dry, and you safe.
- Capacity: 2 x 14 litres.

I was a bit dubious about buying a set of own make panniers, but i decided to take a chance as the reviews looked good and at less than £28 a pair on offer(normally £54.99 a pair)for 28 ltrs what could i lose.I'm a bit of a night owl so i ordered in the early hours of Monday morning, well imagine my surprise when they arrived Tuesday dinner time.Upon closely examining them i was really impressed. they were a lot, and i mean a lot, better quality than i was expecting especially the mounting system which locks to my Tortec rack safely and yet allows me to remove them surprisingly easily. All in all i was so impressed i dived in and ordered the larger 40 ltr version before they put the price back up.I know they are not Ortlieb's or Carradice's but at £60 overall i have got two front and two rear panniers which are going to do me very nicely thank you for the small amount of touring i will be doing and i dont mind stopping and putting the included waterproof covers on if it rains, after all i couldn't even get a single front Ortlieb for that price.
This is an updated design. I bought these to replace my previous set of Revolution bike panniers which had served me well with daily use for over 2 years. Unfortunately the newer design has changed the locking mechanism and done away with the 'one tug release' (presumably for security reasons, so people can't snatch your panniers at traffic lights etc). The downside is that they now become a real fiddle to attach or detach from your carrier frame when you are wearing winter gloves. The new ratchet mechanism also means that the waterproof cover doesn't fit well across the fasteners. Secondly, I carry a light bag of tools in the bottom of this pannier and already they material at the bottom has given way leaving a 2 inch hole in the bottom of the bag. As mentioned the previous panniers lasted 2 years with this bag of tools inside, before this started to fray. Disappointing quality and re-design all in all.
Good quality panniers at a good price- I've found these perfect for commuting particularly as they work well with my 20" wheel folder, where full size panniers would probably drag along the ground! The clips are easy to set up and adjust, and very secure when riding, I've never had on come loose. Considering the smaller size, it's amazing what these will swallow too. The downsides are that the rain cover doesn't always stay in place, meaning the bag may become partly exposed, and as another reviewer said, the covers could be more reflective. To be honest though, you only need to use them in the worst of weather, and there's no way these things would stop me buying the same panniers again.
These little bags are excellent. In fact they're not that little, as you can easily get a sizeable supermarket haul into the pair of them. I've had a pair for well over 3 years and they're still going strong (it's just the netted pocket that has developed a few holes). All the zips are sound, and the backing plate really does the job of keeping the bag in shape and protected from the spokes. There is plenty of reflective trim to light you up and the bright rain cover is good in the rain. Though I really feel that the rain cover should have its own reflective detailing to show up better in misty rain/drizzle. Sadly I can't comment on the clips as they have changed recently. Excellent value for a lovely, nice looking and durable bit of kit - the most useful investment after the bike itself (+rack).
