    Protective Rain Defence Bootie

Made from the finest Yamamoto neoprene, Protective Rain Defence Booties are warmer, more water resistant and far more aerodynamic than oil-based neoprene overshoes. In fact we would go so far as to state that Protective Rain Defence Booties are the best neoprene overshoes we have ever tested.

    Yamamoto Neoprene

Protective don't just source any old neoprene to produce their Bootie. They use Japanese Yamamoto neoprene, manufactured from calcium carbonate limestone which is extracted from 80 million year old shell secretions deposited on the ocean floor.

As well as being more sustainable than oil-based neoprene, Yamamoto neoprene is more stretchy (480% elongation). Its cells trap more gas so it keeps you warmer. It is 95% water impermeable (oil-based neoprene is up to 70%). Its drag coefficient is 0.032 compared with an old school neoprene drag coefficient of 4.

To sum up, Yamamoto neoprene is warmer, it's more water resistant, it's far more aerodynamic and it's so stretchy, you can just slip this overshoe on - no zips or Velcro required.

Protective Rain Defence Booties aren't just made with the best neoprene. There are many more reasons to love these overshoes.

    • Seam sealed to block out the rain.
    • Snug fit, especially around the ankles, to make them more aerodynamic and more rain resistant.
    • The sole is reinforced, then cutaway as required to allow for cleat/pedal interface.
    • Cutaway heel helps prevent you prematurely wearing out the overshoe by walking in them.
    • Easy slip-on design - no need to faff with zips or Velcro.
